Believe you me it does happen at the most remote times that you think. Things do arrive as I am surprised with my friend of many years actually since the age of 8. The do happen to call me from Florida. How we came to be friends and kept it throught all of our years is beyond me.

ReplyDeleteMy experience isn't like yours, but it was beautiful. The best, best friend I ever had, I knew for only two years. He was here for me at a time when I needed far more than I knew I did. But he knew. I would have trusted him with my life. He was my "angel." He lived upstairs. He & his family had to leave under complex circumstances. I didn't hear from him for years, but I often thought about him. I didn't even know where he was.
ReplyDeleteHe phoned me not too long ago, having found my phone number...somewhere. He's far away, but the wonderful part was to know that he was well, & his children, too. I'm certain I'll never 'see' him again, but we can talk, & I'll never forget him.
Even one true, good friend is one of the most valuable things in the world. We moved too much when I was a child & a young teen to ever keep in touch with someone I knew when I was eight! I'm delighted for you.
