There were a band that was so unrealized for whom they were. Ironically they were one of my favorite bands. So many bands came to be from these four original members and ironically most would never know it but the Beatles was the band that inpired them.
I wish they would have kept the make up off and continued as there was a time in which they were really becoming understood for whom and what they were. I don't listen to them much but now and then going back to the "good old days is rather fun".
I missed this bunch as I was back country and having babies and too busy to pay attention to the pop scene.
ReplyDeleteMany bands were influenced by them and at that time they were had the were the largest band in the world, but ironically they kind of went into that were are they now category. Most don't know that both Stanley and Simmons kicked out the other two originals due to drug use, and Gene seemed to be rather self indulged where as Paul was really the musician of the band.
ReplyDeleteThey were the fist band I ever saw in my life as a kid as my brother took me to one of there shows and then I saw them again ....
I wish they were still around....

ReplyDeleteIronically Beth was on the "B" side or Rock n Roll all night - they never thought it would fly. And originally it was called "Beck". Gene made Peter change the name as Becky was his true wife at the time. Bands will have infighting - but it's still today in the top 100 songs on Billboard.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I heard Gene Simmons on a couple talk shows about a year ago promoting some book. Sad how obnoxious he has become.
ReplyDeleteHe broke the band up, Stanley still produces and does his own solo things...It's sad, Bon Jovi, over 50 bands made it due to touring with them during the time in which they were at the height of there fame.
ReplyDeleteI went to HS with a gal who was totally nuts over "KISS." We were in art class together and the teacher would often allow her to play her records. She did some really cool paintings of the group.
