The Bush era of climate change denial will end the moment Borack Obama steps into the the White house I feel. That and so much more. How significant that this is a time that there is so many things happening at one time. I have a friend on here that does write much with regards to the President Elect.
Well I am certain that he is regarded as the President now at this point, it's just getting him in there and then understanding that all things can not be done in one day. Which leads me to giving. Certainly we have this situation that is happening within our worlds but in comparison to some countries and how they live each and every day - we really don't have it all that bad. I think it's a frame of mind if you will. I can see most all the blogs that those that are in areas that do have winter are facing a different year of winter. Difference, there is a word that resonates to me as I was thinking about all the things that people are doing within there own dwellings and regions.
I find that at this point in time, I am just enjoying reading and as well writing. As it's been cold but once again you make the best of it. Today I was at a place called the Bessborough and I had all access in getting in there. There after I came home and then caught up with this and that as the last week was truly a time for me in which I embarked on a few things that I find of up most interest to me.
Sometimes do you ever have that desire to write and there are several things? I know that I do but I have always believe in cadence with this and believe it or not I will just turn the computer off go out on the porch and then come back in.
Now if it was summer - and back in the city that I love second to a place in United States called New York it would l be a very different thing. But these are the time in which most people are inside unless they have something that they have to do.
For those that are new to my blog I wish you a large welcome. There are a few that I never realized were here on multiply and it's been a long time since I have seen them but it's so interesting in keeping it within the writes.
I, for one, am looking forward to Obama's term in office. He seems to have a grip on reality, as far as the environment, global warming, and the digital age are concerned...quite unlike our past leaders. He should be a wake up call to not only the US, but to the world at large. It's about time...
ReplyDeleteI just watched a show on television last night about how global warming makes the artic ice melt. They gave a demostration. The scientists say the ocean acts as a conveyor belt sort of speak. The warmness of the ocean goes towards the artic then back around. The ocean in the middle has deseases that desease our lobsters and oysters. Anyway it was an interesting little diddy on global warming. The fossil fuel and carbon that our cars gives out gets into our oceans and kills fish among other species under the ocean that are vital to other living species.
ReplyDeleteObama has a genius in global warming that will be working. I forget his name. The thing about global warming he says,,,is the name. When people think of global warming they think of it as a hoax and a bunch of fairy tales. Look for a new name to come out. lol I think it will take some elementary schooling to teach the real meaning of "global warming". We might see that this presidency.
ReplyDeleteHi now that is of interesting. Maybe we are just going through a cycle? But it's not a great thing that is happening right now. And we and ironically we if you noticed the gas prices have gone down and at the same time coal is starting back up which gives off so much toxic waste. Could this be a reason of why Cancer is so prevalent today? As you are what you eat.
ReplyDeleteI hope people realize obama isn't Superman. if we want to save the planet, people are gonna have to get off their asses like they did to elect him. but, it's going to have to be on a global scale.
ReplyDeleteman...I don't envy Obama one bit. But, i have high hopes that we'll all get activist about some of the issues we CAN maske a difference in. And maybe it'll be a real team of sorts.
I hope the same. As he has much on his plate and I think I mentioned it before - there is so much going on that he will not be able to live up to all that he is promised, but I do believe that he will be one that does not take the constitution and bend it to his own accord. And that is change enough for me. Thanks for the mention.
ReplyDeletechange enough for me too :) but I can not lie I really do have high expectations of Obama and I'm trying to chill out cuz I know he has way too much on his plate to deal with. I think he will be one of the best pres we ever had.
ReplyDeleteLook at all that is at hand - economy, iraq, the entire middle east, the interior of Unites States, and as well all the countries that are looking for resolve. I understand that it can't be done all by one person nor in six months but I do know that he has a sound way about him and it's a transition that many have been wanting to see from within the US as well as within many countries.
ReplyDeleteThere is much that needs to be fixed, but the first step needs to be a change of attitude.
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more.
ReplyDeleteHe will try to work from the center to please Republcans as well as his own party Democrats. We have not had a president like that since our first 4 Presidents who were called Republican-Democrats. There is great hope with a man like this. Hope is what Americans needed and now if he can bring the Change we want with it, which I think he can, than everything will fall like dominoes in place and good history will be made. Not to mention PEACE.
ReplyDeleteHe's not a warhead like the reps so that is change automatic lol
ReplyDeleteI don't subscribe to parties I do believe in a by partisian manner. And I think that is happening.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking here that I picked the wrong picture for this blog! lol
wow that is a pretty picture. I am going to use it for wallpaper on my comp :)
ReplyDeleteI think Obama has the opportunity to be America's first "global President", certinaly the most globally respected since JFK. Perhaps even more, given that his background and early life in places like Indonesia suits for seeing problems like global warming and developing nations in a way that is unique for being something he experienced and not just read about. We shall see of course but I haven't been this hopeful since Jimmy Carter's tenure at least for a time held out the hope for a better world for human rights.
ReplyDeleteJust remember... It took 8 years to get us in this condition, he's not going to be able to rectify it overnight folks..:-)
ReplyDeleteI have believed that for the longest time. Doug in Canada - canadians were polled during the one week before the finality and election and more that 80% said that they would opt out of voting for a Canadian Prime Minister to have the chance to vote within America. I think that says something and I am sure that other countries feel the same not all but many.
ReplyDeleteWhen we get something new, or there is a change like buying a house or moving into a new home. That within it's self is something that the averages person takes time in getting used too. It takes over two months before a person is really settled. So that being said, lets just allow him to sit and think and do what he wants to do within his own inner workings with his cabinet - I mean his administration.
ReplyDeleteProgress is not something done in one day it may only be measure in months or even years - the effects of progress. But nevertheless it's within the day in his own manner and way.
No more out-sourcing...a manufacturing base and development of some sort of US product that the world needs (and we build) should be established. Simple and sensible investment in our country's infrastructure makes great sense...there is so much work to be done on water, road and other necessary systems! States, counties and cities have been postponing such high dollar investments for years---if there is Federal money or programs to accomplish this...then perhaps the rebuilding and expansion can become a reality.
ReplyDeleteI want the quality of life I've known (at least--if not a better one) for my grandchild. I'm hoping our President helps that rather than destroys the chance of it. For the first time in eight years I have some sense of hope to that end. That, at least, is an encouragement.
As it is within the US as well as those that are close and have worked together in a meaningful manner that creates and economy that works in a micro and maro way. This is encouragement and these will be the times that things do work. Spend less in areas that have no merit and spend where they do have abundance. Peace GA...
ReplyDeleteG'day Jack,
ReplyDeleteI wish Borack Obama all the luck in the world, not to save the world, the reality is that no one person can, but in the wish that he gets the support to do what he seems is the right thing, because once people realise that some of his ways will effect them in a way they would not have chosen themselves, that's when the true test of their commitment to him will become clear, if they are prepared to put themselves 2nd & their country first, that's when he will know he has the backing to be president in the meaning of the word, not just a page in America's history
I think that having Obama in the White House will be like a breath of fresh air. He seems very focussed and I'm sure he has a good idea of where he is going. He has already surrounded himself with great people and will continue to do so. He will definitely be refreshing and uplifting to know that things are finally being done. I wish Barack Obama a great term as President and welcome him. Let's hope that he can make our Prime Minister one of his allies.
ReplyDeleteI am sure he will and I believe I mentioned that Canada and the USA are the two largest bilateral trading partners in the world. Obama is coming here to Ottawa. It's going to be what I believe his first meeting with another leader in another country to discuss the economy.
ReplyDeleteLets hope as it's a good thing.
