Last night I was delighted that I had my car finished. I could take pleasure in the weekend.
I started off this morning in actually having a coffee and talking to a few friends in a chat room, which I rarely do. There is an old friend from Wales whom was in this chat room called professors, that was there and the morning chat was really a good one. As there came a time in which I was very tired of listening to people drunk, infighting and well I think you know what I mean with some chat rooms.
Then after two cups of coffee it was time to get start up my car as throughout the night it went down to minus 41. This morning it was a smooth nice warm –35, so I went out and started my car and left it running while I took a shower and got ready for the day. I went and filled the car up with gas along with gas line anti freeze and ran into this coach line that was where an idea started. The gentleman said that the junior hockey team was across the street having breakfast so I went in and took just two pictures. Thereafter, I went to the university after calling the supervisor and gained access and I was just looking for something different within all this cold.
The university this morning was quiet, there was the exception of a few people in every place that I went. While waiting for a one or two transit buses to arrive, I went into the main lobby area of the university and was talking to some young students from the university. I talked to them and they were talking about the climate and then I did ask them if they would not mind me doing some video on them and as soon as we were done. The buses were outside. I took a few pictures in hopes of finding that quality picture of some recognition or symbolic value with the winter. However it did not happen so after I went with one friend and grabbed a bite. Thereafter, I was finishing off everything and I was driving by what is this Light Source Energy Building. So many people here in town think its some nuclear generated system but it’s to do with light at a speed that is faster than light. I really don’t know what that does mean.
Helena, from Germany that offered to take me in and show me around she was too timid for a picture, but it was a gift to have someone that worked in there that had the authority to sign me in and give me a tour. I have wanted to go inside this place for the last three years and I finally was able to see it all. Just fascinating it was. She is a doctor of medicine that is utilizing this large complex called they Synchrotron in her studies to find an answer with tumors. Her is that of a neurologist and I really thanked her and gave her a ride back home as she was waiting for the bus. This city where I am, is probably one of the most innovative cities as it’s founded on education. For a population base of merely 250,000 thousand, does have a metropolitan value about it.

I can't begin to imagine what it'd be like to have to deal with -41degree temperatures. Brrrrrrrrrr!!!! Looks like you had a very interesting day.
ReplyDeleteIt was cold but one makes the best of it. I enjoyed today with going back to the university that I knew and doing several other things Norma.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're having a better time right now and for that I am glad. Take care and try not to get too cold!
ReplyDeleteWe make the best of anything that comes our way, but with all due respect all things do resolve...
ReplyDeleteYou sure do know how to enjoy your day even in a cold winter day!
ReplyDeleteTake care and keep yourself bundled up.

ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a lovely day Jack...:-) Stay warm, sleep well my friend..
ReplyDeleteSheesh you were on -35 and we reached at least +35C!!! We melted here all day. Interesting pictures.
ReplyDeletePeeks yes I did and I have been on this cold streak but with all said it's been a very cold winter this year - hopefully this summer along with many I can show some "sun". I slept well and am going to read the "Sunday Sun" and see the summary for the week.
ReplyDeleteIri, I have been over to your blog and there are times as you that I do and I don't write look at this light source. It's fascinating. Regardless of the temperature, I have to get off the weather but this morning it's -35c but that is par for the coarse when you live in an area that has drastic changes of climate. The summers are hot and I mean hot - not in Edmonton, but as and if I follow my recent plans to stay here in Saskatoon which I am certain that I am. It's a place that does get very cold - this is not typical this year, and then very hot in the summers. I mean hot.
ReplyDeleteBut when you get a chance as I know your interested in this area as I read your blogs and pending the evening if I know enough about it I do make a comment. take a click on light source and later on today I have a video of this place and imagine a place that is one of 12 of this type of energy and it's not nuclear. The link is about.
All the best too England!

ReplyDeleteIt was definitely lovely to hear your voice, Jack! You should do that more often! I imagine if I were living where you are, I would want to be independently wealthy so I never had to leave the house, except perhaps once a week for supplies and fresh air! I'm a homebody, anyway, so I wouldn't 'catch" the cabin fever 'disease".
ReplyDeleteWell I just arrived home and do as you wish. Everyone has there own way. For myself with this weather after getting back from getting groceries, I am just relaxing and enjoying things for what they are I will do an audio post now.
ReplyDeleteSo for today it's nice to just enjoy Sunday for what it is and just stay indoors.
The best thing about the freezing cold is climbing into a warm bed, hot soup and sitting around an open fire but one doesn't seem to have them anymore. At least you are getting out when you can to do some things enjoyable. And now keeping warm in the evening at home. Enjoy !!!
ReplyDeleteDenise I was just thinking of something to write lol, hiya!
