Reformations...Economically

Recently there seems to be much worry on the part of Canadians and the wording of President Obama new economic policy. I am all for Obama but Canada is not Mexico and we have been the largest trading partners in the world.

I hope that we there are changes in the provisions as this could have tremendous impact on Canada. I believe in the micro and macro economics in resolving an issue. I hope for a change from which it all can work out economically with two countries as well as several others.

We have to thank George W...and his administration for creating one of the worst economic times that we will ever see. Just my opinion...

  1. I am hopeful that Obama can and will set things right with the economy but it will take time. From the blogs I have read from people in several different countries, it seems much of the world are as hopeful as we Americans that Obama will improve things.
I haven't read the wording of his economic plan. What exactly has Canadians worried about it? They think he may show preference to Mexico, or is it something else?

  2. I think it's a good thing that Obama will be coming to Canada and I'm looking forward to seeing what develops from that meeting. I know that the main points discussed by Harper and Obama will most likely focus heavily on several key topics - the war in Afghanistan, climate change and the impact the global recession is having on the North American auto industry and Canada-U.S. bilateral trade.

  3. I think so as this is where things could take a turn for the worst I don't wish to get political but trade is what makes even the United States work. I don't think we can go back to the manners of the last 4 years. I think Obama is a tremendous leader but a reformation of everything done only in America has never been the way. It's by way of bilateral agreements. NAFTA was brought about by the United States government then George handled it his own way - just like the banks.

I believe that many are worried within Canada with regards to this as we have traded with so many countries and at the same time, we I do believe in trade. It makes the economy grow. In comparison to if the economy was situated within only one country - never worked and never has been done.

  4. The wording of an agreement that has gone on for years between the two largest bilateral trading partners of the world.

  5. There has never been a commerce preference as strong as the one between United States and Canada Norma. The economic plan probably will have several amendments.

  6. I hope the Ottawa and Washington will not be caught in some kind of crazy trade war, such as the Bush Administration had going on with tripling the tariff on food items like cheese and candy from the European Union. Neither country can afford to look inward to solve our mutual and multiple economic problems.

  7. Doug this is my point and I hope this is the case as no one country can survive economically without the other. We have been very good friends in government and I would hope that this mutuality does carry on.

  8. This was an old write I wrote back when I was fed up with how the media was leading people down a wrong road as far as with several situations. When I look at it now I can only hope that there is true progress rather than the same old, same old...

  9. I don't write much on politics nor do am I anti american, I just think that it's a shame when Canada goes through the same things with internatized mentalities of media as well as some people that are within the government - this is a time to bring about and build back an economy - that will take some time.
