The man knew that there was many things that were and had taken place during the past month. So he decided to take for a walk. The idea of looking for a place that was somewhere nestled within a city that was so crowded with suburban developments of one house after another. He drove down and found the spot that he recalled years ago and how the developments had grown around it that he was fortunate enough to pull to the wayside and ask an elder lady walking her two dogs "where is the river". She smiled and told him the way to get down there and he went.
He walked the trail and took in all the things that come with a day with just himself with nature. And how it was a peaceful walk while just allowing the things that surrounded him not effect what his aspirations and goals were.
However during that journey it was a small little understanding of whom he is and where he was going. With each step he could see how others that had walked the trail the same morning probably just people that just lived near there. But he was there along with nature just allowing the steps in the snow to tell him where he was heading. However the path was now changed. In a good way. Slowly...
It does a person much good, to at times to go out and just walk alone in nature, soaking it all up. To get away from everything if just for a little while, to let it all out, to totally unwind. I enjoy walking in the woods, we dont get enuff snow here to walk in, that would make the walk that much better. I have found, that is when I am able to hear the LORD more clearly. Here lately, I have not had or taken the time to get away and go for a walk. I have myself only to blame for that.

What is beautiful about rivers, is that they never freeze for a long time, if they ever totally do. The strength of their own flow is such, that they force the ice away from their path, finding their way... just as you are slowly doing. Nice pictures, and it is pleasant to find those areas where the fast pace of cities have not affected the peaceful feel.
ReplyDeleteThanks as that was honestly the day for me as there have been some things that have gone wrong and this last month has not been the easiest one for me. I moved here and there might be a real story coming up with that however - I have been so on the go that I am coming to understand the power of just relaxing and being indifferent to what is going on around me. And this is Sunday a day of rest. I am going to enjoy it without any rushing to do this or that.
ReplyDeleteLong walks do a body good...and not just because of the exercise.
