Where ideals make music. This is how I see U2, which is of a band of four. I would dare to say that these Irish lads where taken by the Beatles and yet had their own convictions. Bono the singer of the band has been the front man in not just the stage. However, within areas which John Lennon might have embarked on. With an influence from Sir Bob Gildoff during the making of an 80’s song for Africa. Bono has come to be a spokesperson that goes beyond music. The sound of U2 is a mixture of so many realms of music yet it comes to be that of U2.
Where the streets have, no name was the pinnacle moment for U2 as to many it was like the Beatles last performance live on top of a building. Possibly U2 took off from where the Beatles – that is one band leaving there last event (Beatles) in an unpredictable performance on the top of a building.
Who knows as there has been so much covered since. Yet each of their songs does have something to say. Not ordinary but truly from an Irish soul of the finest 4 from Ireland within a tempering era.
"Where the Streets have No Names"
by U2
I want to run
I want to hide
I want to tear down the walls
That hold me inside
I want to reach out
And touch the flame
Where the streets have no name
I want to feel sunlight on my face
I see the dust cloud disappear
Without a trace
I want to take shelter from the poison rain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
We're still building
Then burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there
I go there with you
It's all I can do
The city's aflood
And our love turns to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
Trampled in dust
I'll show you a place
High on a desert plain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
We're still building
Then burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there
I go there with you
It's all I can do
Our love turns to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
Blown by the wind
Oh, and I see love
See our love turn to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
Blown by the wind
Oh, when I go there
I go there with you
It's all I can do
I luv Bono!...and Amazing Grace....♥
ReplyDeleteThis was the beginning sound Alice - nice neat intro.
ReplyDeleteI get to listen only to the small sounds intro of Amazing grace , yet it seems the whole song is beautifuly written and done
ReplyDelete... finally i get the idea of the song lyrics now after a minutes of on and of, a love gone to waste. Sad. But if love isn't trusting, nothing would happen to it. Good nice song for a love went pffft ...
tight hugs
I would if the Beatles had reunited or John Lennon could be "reimagined" from the 80's on, they and he, respectively, would have climbed some of the very heights that U2 and Bono scaled. Great musical pick!
ReplyDeleteThat would have been something which would never take place yet if John was alive I am sure he would be flattered with Bono. Yet "The Edge" as a guitarist has the edge. "Where Craft ends Spirit Begins" as stated by Bono.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it is a nice intro
