The Hottest....BAND IN THE WORLD

Band in the World, as introduced at each and every concert.  KISS was formed in the year 1973 in New York City, in what was left of the group Wicked Lester. It is led by Chaim Witz, who changed his name to Eugene Klein, better known as Gene Simmons, who in 1972 was known as Stanley Harvey Eisen, known as Paul Stanley. After many disagreements and discussions, and Stanley Simons become best friends and go in search of a drummer. To do this place an ad in Rolling Stone and so know Peter George John Crisscuola, known as Peter Criss. Peter once placed another advertisement in The Village Voice. Ace Frehley is presented to a hearing of the band which is chosen. After his second appearance at the Diplomat Hotel in Manhattan in 1973, producer Bill Aucoin offered a contract to manage the band and in just two weeks they were signed to the newly formed record label Casablanca. Kiss In just one year had produced 3 albums with an average success. In the summer of 1975 brought out “Alive”, the album that changed his fate. It contained the live version of “Rock And Roll All Night” which reached number 12 in the U.S. charts.

This group of four boys came on stage with painted faces, each taking a character. Paul Stanley is the Star, Gene Simmons is the Demon, Peter Criss is the Cat, and Ace Frehley embodied an image of Space. Gene had his own name for the band after it changed from Wicked Lester – yet Paul decided KISS was the name which by a vote came to be. Kiss radiated a tremendous energy in each concert.

1995 was a pinnacle moment within this success of the band as there was an opportunity to bring together the original members of the group. Which lead to MTV Unplugged. In 1996 he made the reunion tour “Alive Worldwide Reunion Tour”, which took the band to countries which had never touched. If unplugged would not have happened according to Paul Stanley he was about to form his own band and continue playing and performing without the makeup – as he was more of the musician and decisive with what he wished to do. Yet in 1996, KISS got that second chance. Mind you, when Ace and Peter were brought back into the group – they never realized that they would be working as employees of the KISS ENTERTAINMENT CORP., which is owned by Gene and Paul.

Some things to consider which have not been wrote although KISS never was a favorite among the media in there beginnings and throughout most of there 40 plus years:

Gene and Paul were driven by the Beatles. When they came up with their names in addition to their image they were looking to mimic the Beatles in a hard rock manner. For example: Gene Simmons/John Lennon, Paul Stanley/Paul McCartney, Ace Frehley/George Harrison, and Peter Criss/Ringo Star.  There have been more artists who have benefited by being on tour with KISS which would span at least 10 great bands which have become successful. Yet Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons have always been the owners of now what is a company.

The accumulation of sales of Albums, Concerts, Merchandise and other areas in which Stanley/Simmons have started they are literally the largest grossing entity in revenues in history.  Since the original split of Ace Frehley followed by Peter Criss they have gone through several changes yet Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer have been with the “company/band” the longest.  KISS has been around for 40 years. Of recent they launched the largest and most expensive stage and tour this year.

I have seen KISS perform two times and rehearse one time. I thought I would place some KISS Songs on here and if I may mention KISS does not stand for anything satanic. The word KISS was merely thought of by Paul Stanley wanted to have a name which represented passion.

I have always seen KISS as a Band which was formed by two people whom tried to be different – much like a cross section of the Beatles with Makeup gone within a "New Yorkish Groove".

  7. As time went on I think that many could appreciate whom they are and the things which they
stand for. There are not too many people now within music which have much bad to say
pertaining to them as back in the 70's they were very unknown but had a flaming youth
that took to them. But they are nothing of the likes of some of the hard rock bands which
    came from that era.

  9. good blog... they really knew how to perform

  10. That they do Lemon, I would dare to say that the performance took over the talent of some of their best work which was done when they took off the paint.
When they did take off the makeup most thought that they really couldnt play. Yet so wrong, Paul did work with Micheal Bolton, Bryan Adams, Richie Sambora, the list goes on.

    Without makeup Lemon:

  12. I can't say I ever got much out of this band, Jack. It's my problem, though, not the four or their fans.

I can't quite put my finger on it but I think it has something to do with the make-up.

  13. Not all Douglas, I am an atypical fan but
I do look forward to seeing them. As well, I loved them Doug when
they were without make up there even though it would have been
    considered there "unfortunate years".

Yet if you look at what recently Gene and Paul have done for
veterans in every country which they are playing. They are
dedicating one entire concerts revenues to Vets across the world.

  14. Which is outstanding all the way around, Jack. :-)

  15. Not bad for one night!

This is one which is called a charity organization named Wounded Heros. In England last week one entire concert's revenues
were donated to the organization. There is unicef, another for deaf children, and many more....I can't find this on my laptop
but I did listen to it on my iphone.
