I had went and taken my father to what is known as St. Paul's Hospital. As I had some time I took few pictures on the way there. New to this one hospital today there was an addition of all these symbols of faith. I only really had not that much time but I captured some as I waited as my father was having a review by way of a nephrologist. There were all these faith symbols, which were all new to me, and with really only 15 minutes I thought I would get as many of them with out using my photo editor.
There after I looked at the various places I have taken some shots within this very week but within the past few years and thought I would place a few.
There are two cities that all are encompassed within here.
I really like this
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing shot!
ReplyDeleteSome very good ones there.
ReplyDeleteI like the impression of snow on the Giza plateau...or a roof! Nice
ReplyDeleteVery cute
ReplyDeleteExcellent shot
ReplyDeleteI love the look of desolation in the shot
ReplyDeleteShe has a very friendly face.
ReplyDeleteExcellent shot
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot
ReplyDeletenever do this on a laptop LOL....I shall be back : )
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed these. You have a great eye!
ReplyDeleteshe looks familiar :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all a mix some are from today and some are from a over the last two years.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite fun to see how things turn out with different camera settings.
ReplyDeleteThe moon!
ReplyDeleteThe shovel is taking a break, I see :)
ReplyDeleteIt's almost as if you could pluck the ornaments off the tree and eat them.
ReplyDeleteTraveling to the unknown....
ReplyDeleteHmmm, where does this go?
ReplyDeleteI like this room!
ReplyDeleteThat's cool!
ReplyDeleteThere a large array within here. I was on my laptop when I placed them on as it was I did wish to have more self time and
ReplyDeletewell today was one where it was taking care of another - literally I would have to go through each and everyone of them
and I think for now the best is in just illustrating them. They encompass two cities as well as I looked to see which one I could place
on that where all within this week regardless of the years.
I find it interesting that almost all of the faiths in the photos above stated the same philosophy of treating others as you would want to be treated.
ReplyDeleteThis was where I was today it's within a hospital one of four. I had not been to it in ages and it was very nice mind you I did not have all that much time
ReplyDeleteto take the pictures that I used to as the first priority was in taking my father in and then after most all was finished within his review. I just grabbed an
elevator to capture those symbols as they were new. And rather nice.
reminds me of my walks at the river walk :) haven't been there in a few weeks , time to get back! work tomorrow though
ReplyDeletebeautiful
ReplyDeletereminds me of my winters in Michigan
ReplyDeletelike
ReplyDeletelove the way you captured the sun through the tree there ,,winter isn't my favorite season and yet there can be such beauty
ReplyDeleteThese are so many that are are from this time of the year. Some taken recently and some taken within other cities I have been, mind you I was doing it by way of my laptop when I arrived home and there are somethings that I find I am much better with by way of my desktop.
ReplyDeleteI just love, love LOVE looking at your pictures, Jack! You bring a fresh perspective into all of them! Notice how the basic truths of all faiths are really one in the same? Now, that is MY religion. :)
ReplyDeleteis this a parking lot Jack ... it looks great.
ReplyDeleteChristmas tree will always be a welcome site. Beautiful
ReplyDeleteyep ... this Christmas ... i love the way the christmas tree was arranged :)
ReplyDeletehey it's blue christmas loving it too ... great
ReplyDeleteRomantic if I may please.
ReplyDeleteThe Moon gracing the winter sky. Lovely
ReplyDeletelonesome
ReplyDeleteit's him
ReplyDeleteThe Sun trying to show his might ... against the wintry snowy sorroundings ... great shot Jack.
ReplyDeletei love this, the yellow reflection i could see.
ReplyDeleteoh careful Jack ...
ReplyDeleteLife ... there is life at the end ... just follow the Sun :)
ReplyDeletelove the colors of the curtains ... the homey feel
ReplyDeleteThe bricks i find it lovely and appealing. Nice shot
ReplyDeleteMay God bless her, so she could still continue giving care to many
ReplyDeleteOpen arms ... welcoming each one of us. Great.
ReplyDeleteoh this is lovely! Great shot there
ReplyDeleteThis is a main public entrance of this hospital which was up till the 90's was owned by the Grey Nuns.
ReplyDelete~ So this is Christmas and what have we done ~ John Lennon.
ReplyDeleteThis really represents this St. Paul's - which was founded and owned by the Grey Nuns Society.
ReplyDeleteSo there are all these symbols of faiths which really is the doing of the administration of this Hospital.
So it still has that spiritual integration which really makes it unique compared to the other more modern
Hospitals that are within this city.
This was take in the lobby with while I was staying at the Fairmount Hotel in Edmonton.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteJack ... merry Christmas
... i want to see you happy. God bless :)
This was two years ago and taken while visiting the head of the University of Saskatchewan here.
ReplyDeleteThe house has hosted the Queen and other dignitaries from around the world.
It's good to be King and it's good to be Dean LOL.
so you're laughing ...
ReplyDeletenice to hear that
:)
This is again the 2 acres of land of this Dean's home.
ReplyDeletethat's a large area. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYeah it's actually something that I can see now
ReplyDeletewas taken in January however it has a kinda that
kind of spooky look to it as I was trying to get th
moon along with the part of the house. However
it never came out right as at that time it was - 40c.
Cameras do freeze up and literally you can ruin
them in drastically cold temperatures.
Alignment I love it pardon me as I took it :)
ReplyDeleteI was in the midst of visiting a
ReplyDeletehouse I was having built in Edmonton.
And I took my camera along with me.
Symbolic I guess.
yep, it connotes something ... home needs a man. You got it perfectly
ReplyDeletespooky yet kinda' romantic feel too. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteSharon, this was my first visit to this Edmonton Botanical Gardens.
ReplyDeleteI was very taken by the manner of how this was built pyramids of glass.
There were some places I found to be very picturesque from the outside in
comparison to the inside.
This is the Alberta Provincial Legislature during Christmas.
ReplyDeleteFaye, I could not resist last winter while I was on my way downtown. As who could not resist this. :)
ReplyDeleteEither this was last week or I have no clue as to when I took this.
ReplyDeleteSo it is that time of the year.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many that have been speaking of how
ReplyDeletecold it is and this was taken last year as I just
wished to capture what we do here so that our
vehicles don't freeze up especially during the month
of January.
you take care.
ReplyDeleteJourney into the Infinite...
ReplyDeleteWhich encompasses an array of things really.
St.Pauls Hospital 7 months ago if my memory serves me correctly.
ReplyDeleteIt's the pre op area within St. Pauls Hospital.
ReplyDeleteWhile on the other side my father was waiting to
go into surgery with his every six month kidney stint
replacement. I came to know most all within the
medical area. I guess it would be by way of tending to
my father's needs during those times.
Only knew here by the times that I had been there. But often
ReplyDeleteI will not place pictures as so many don't wish for there picture
to be taken.
I forget here name. But she is a hoot as well as a tremendous
ReplyDeletesoul. She is one of many volunteers that when they are retired
will assist people in wheel chairs or walkers in getting to there
destination. She really was a hoot. Some people don't retire
they have something they wish to embark on and so she did.
And did it well.
That's true and very rewarding as I do my little share too. Twice a month. Feeding and bathing the elders.
ReplyDeleteIt's the main symbolic theme of Jesus as this St. Pauls was founded
ReplyDeleteby the grey nuns. There are small symbols throughout this hospital.
As well there is a statue that is right within the very front of it.
If I may say, it's a hospital that has a staff that are all really friendly.
It reminds me of the Oncology side of The Royal University Hospital
in the manner in which people are not numbers - they are human
beings.
true ... and should be loved and be given the utmost care we could give which way we can.
ReplyDeleteThis was within the first few months that I returned here to Saskatoon.
ReplyDeleteIt's a place that I have always liked to hike within the summer with a
friend of mine (she has moved) and I was just taking my weekends and
enjoy some excursion of some sort. It's called Beaver Creek as in the spring,
summer it's really amazing and a great place to hike. The big test was in doing it
and walking to it in 3 ft of snow. As there is cabin like tourist area, but as well
there is a staff of merely two or three. But within the winter. The neat thing
is doing the full trail, as it's not all cleared off. So for me it was exercise combined
with something interesting as this is where I got this capture of me with the Chickadee
eating from my hand.
Now and then you know when you just
ReplyDeletehave a capture and this was one of those.
The second floor :)
ReplyDeleteRoad repairs there too! ugh
ReplyDeleteIt's the house of the first Dean of the University of Alberta, now it's a historical
ReplyDeletesite and this really does bring back a great memory as Edmonton was not my
favorite city, but for the farthest large city within Canada - it had some very amazing
historical values that literally was where I started to learn the relationships and cross over
bond between Western Canada and United States.
A group of us from my church visited a Baha'i "church" in the Chicago area once, it was really interesting.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you at the time Cheryl and this was right next to the river in Edmonton.
ReplyDeleteThis was near my house there and it was the area was called Rabbit Trail.
The river near this was the North Saskatchewan River. Which is the longest river
within Canada. Not the largest by width, but within length it goes through all
the western canadian provinces. The squirrel well who could resist :)
It's one bridge I was taking while
ReplyDeleteleaving downtown Edmonton and
heading back home which was a
rather long drive. But I did like Edmonton.
I have never met so many Australians
as I have there - which I found to be
different as it's much colder there and
they refer to Saskatoon as being
"down south" lol.
Edmonton is the head of Alberta's provincial government and much like a states legislature building
ReplyDeletethis is the same, taken during the Christmas season.
Nice photos there! It's always interesting to me that there are so many religions that believe the same things.
ReplyDeleteTwo fine ladies which work as hosts and tour guides within for
ReplyDeletethe Government of Alberta.
As I had to sign off as this was a governmental building - this was a gent's set up for taking some pictures for some magazine.
ReplyDeleteYesterday Nancy, I took the fastest way, and as this city has been growing so fast 24 hours a day there is additional
ReplyDeletelanes being built to accommodate the influx of people. We are the fastest growing city in Canada and the city planner
never anticipated this.
So it was the old waiting game for a good 15 minutes. Right now it's much better to just drive within the city as it really
is much faster.
