So often I think that we have our own very beliefs and values. It's something in which we have been raised upon and is a foundation of what "roots" us if you will. I believe within the theory of allowance. Within miracles it can be such a variety of things to so many people for myself I have seen those very close to me and friend that have passed away. Not all but faith is something that retains us as well as the areas of survival. It's a natural thing that mankind wishes to survive but when things are hard one does render from a variety of means. I am a faith bound person I would guess but I am not one that uses it for everything that I do. What I have achieved in life is what I have done. When I posted the question of last night I was curious yet at the same time I think that we all have a host of things that go on within our lives that we have what is within the stream of our life that certain thing that is apart of our persona. As most know I was raised a catholic but I have mixed with a variety of people. I have seen ones within my own family beat odds that were not to be beaten I have over come situations that most would think would be too hard to do.
Yet I have a faith as well as I believe in the value of what comes within life and on this very earth. One could write on this subject but I am a very moderate person and I believe that there are things such as miracles that can happen. Yet at the same time I truly believe there are areas in which challenge us that we create the miracle or as a metaphor we see a miracle. Rather serious for a Friday night but in a short manner that is how I feel on the power of the human condition as well as faith and miracles. I don't believe in a world that is mundane. For myself there has to always be something that is of use, some creating within a manner. To each their own as the saying goes and I guess that is the best way to sum this one write up within a rather quick write.
There are some examples but perhaps it’s best for another day. Yet while I was at this hugs church within Quebec. There was something one could feel within it. It was something that could have been in any place of worship but these people were very moderate – they felt very blessed within life and within their belief. Some did go there to this oratory to find a cure to something or something else, for myself I found that when I read within the news it’s really had taken me as I was just there not too long ago and it's 3,000 miles east. Yet we go on living and for myself I don’t now ever have pushed my values on others. I actually keep him or her to myself, as I am sure and certain that every moderate person does.
Miracles, I think we all do look at miracles in different manners and that is not being avoiding as I really feel that way. Bill here mention his three daughters he felt were a miracle. I feel much the same way and we all have our private areas in which we do retain and keep as a precious commodity to ourselves. The man below had just lost his wife and this was during the time I was station in a city called Edmonton. So I thought I would place two pictures one from Montreal and then one nearly 4,000 miles to the west to a place called Edmonton....
I am not on here to preach, nor would I yet there is a faith structure within everyone.

Very well written. I enjoyed reading your thoughts. You know, I am always amazed at just the power of our very own thoughts and how they can affect us in our lives. We still have so much to learn as human beings, I don't believe we have vaguely scratched the surface of what we are capable of achieving.. As for my faith, it was born into me and that is where it will remain, like a treasure beyond measure. Because my faith in God, is the only thing that has got me thus far and with it inside me I carry it to the end of my existence. Things may not happen for a reason that I wish, things I do not understand, but I can accept this and I truly am blessed, I believe everyday because the treasures in which I cherish are not of the material world, they are the from the so called little things in life, everything I need is contained within.. Thank you so much for sharing Jack, sorry I got long winded, sometimes words strike a chord within me and it is like a dam that breaks and the water comes rushing out.. lol. Have a great weekend my friend. Keep Care and I wish for you all the goodness you could hope for. :-)
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention your photograph's.. Beautiful!! I especially love the one here above of the man in thought of prayer.. And of course I love the angle of the photo, I will always think of you when I see a photograph captured in such a manner. Love it!!
ReplyDeletei am not sure amigo what faith is or what a miracle is------and i am not sure if i would believe in either------i do however believe that we were all created with potential---with value---with purpose----and within that belief--for me---is responsibility to appreciate and to use all that i was given----i fall short---everyday---and i know that tomorrow i will too fall short but never abandoned---there are indeed places that speak to us in silence---and in that silence the most profound guidance is received and the most needed healing is given---and there are times when it is the smile of a stranger that gives insight into our own purpose............si?
ReplyDeleteThe power within our own thoughts is one of abundance I was just speaking with a friend from Chile and we were discussing this recent situation with the miners. However that is another matter. Still it blows me away that we are within such a small world. Regardless of whom we are I do believe we merely do scratch the surface. There was a great book wrote by a man from the Nazi War Camps by the name of Victor Frankl if my memory serves me correctly it was what differentiated those that were able to survive the "camps" and those that weren't.
ReplyDeleteA great eve to you Dawn although it's going down to 23F staying in and comfy. :)
Ironically there are two cities I find I took my best photographs believe it or not or I should say within this digital age. That man was there for hours and he was praying after the passing of his wife. I don't just walk up to any one but at the time of that picture I recall writing about it that weekend on a Sunday evening while working within the Edmonton International Airport. The one on top is one of so many within Montreal. I found that the architecture within spaces such, as churches were art. There was something that I could sit on the floor and render some of the finest pictures not for others necessarily but it was much like painting.... a hobby as such.
ReplyDeleteNor I when we do an action of something takes place to we place it all within one category? When there is something that is tremendous that happens within life do we place it into one category? We may fall short but we fall forward rather than backwards. Some smile some are very strongly will minded but within the sphere of life I am just dang glad it's Friday despite the temperture tonight as the furnase is one! But certain I know what your saying with a very large smile.

ReplyDeleteNo... snow yet.. I'm so not ready for snow, but I promise I will smile anyways when it does.. :-) Thanks for the smile Jack.
ReplyDeleteI do believe there are always purpose why miracles do happened in the same way that why we are in this world. The only thing is for us to discover what is that purpose to make our lives worthliving for. Almost always perseverance is the key as i am seeing it, and going through my own life.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of your most exemplanary blogs, and i love the way you said it ... please let me quote it again Jack;
" I have seen ones within my own family beat odds that were not to be beaten I have over come situations that most would think would be too hard to do."
~ that said it all ... what kind of man you are :).
Those pictures above were all speaks of how faith should be. Leaning and believing ...
thanks much Jack. You're such a wonderful person :)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Jack. Like you, I was raised a Catholic and I've always believed in miracles. Just saw one last year. One of my friends had advanced pancreatic cancer. She went through the whole things: surgery, chemo and radiation. Still, the docs gave her a grim prognosis. A year later she's back to work and is cancer free. One never knows why miracles happen but I'm happy they do. Maybe its the power of prayer and faith. I know that both have kept me going during the hardest times of my life, and I'm a better person for it ;-).
ReplyDeleteWalking forward in life with a positive mind brings an automatic smile to ones heart ..... believing in oneself and knowing that the truth for one may not be the truth for another ... positive acceptance allows us to smile at the differences .... even in a desperate situation .... a sad situation .... a smile speaks kindly .... it eases the pain of tears!
ReplyDelete~SMILE~ .....
k now please don't get me wrong here as having one big miracle right now a coffee as it's mighty cold this morning :).
ReplyDeleteMaybe as within power (determination) and faith is how I do see it. Within all times Sue.
ReplyDeleteNow I know a tad of your background and I believe I see a very faithful and determined person that went to visit Buddhists monastery. Don't Buddhists have spirituality as well as a belief and value system Lynne?
ReplyDelete~smile~ ... yes it is spiritual and there is definitely a belief system .... but I think its more of a philosophy than a religion. Mind you in sayin that ... any religion is a philosophy of sorts I guess ... its up to the interpretation of each individual .... Its the way of life we choose really.
ReplyDeleteIf it was not for my faith there have been times i would not have made it...Beautiful church
ReplyDeleteNeat to say the least and just arrived home....we all have our own thoughts on this. They are two different cities as well as churches but a good morning to you there Julie....
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear the good news for your friend. I too believe in miracles. Great posting Jack, on a subject that sure does get one thinking.
ReplyDelete.yes I agree with Lynne ,,its all to do with the individuals interepretation:)..altho..little miracles happen every day :)
ReplyDeleteSeems I need to clarify something here ..... Unlike christianity ... I dont call myself a buddhist .... for a buddhist in my eyes has reached enlightenment .... I am merely a believer and a keen student of buddhist philosophy!
ReplyDeleteI do believe in miracles. Why? Because I had a miracle in my life. And if it were not for my personal faith, I would not be here. Good blog Jack, and lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteMost welcome Cath... I hear ya.
ReplyDeleteI love that top photo, Jack! So much fine detail and the blending of colors is awesome! I imagine it cost a pretty penny from start to finish.
ReplyDeleteYour over there within Toronto, it amazed me with the amount of churches that where there and well I believe this was the Notre Dame Basilica as for the most part it was hard to find my own way around the most ironic thing is the interconnection that I found between Edmonton and Montreal especially for some reason with these churches.
ReplyDeleteThis top picture Robert amazed me as I had never seen the likes of these places. I guess there is a pro an con to that but to see it for is truly breathtaking as I have never been within a society as Montreal where there were so many churches but then the history of Montreal (as you know) is based on Catholicism.

I am not sure if you can see the video section of my blog but after the one funny there are some video renders that are just all too neat.
Miracles...this has been a topic to say the least.
Best wishes and a good eve to you Robert.
