Wonderful ... I do imagine many times if he is still alive today. Will he still be married to Yoko [?] am just being honest here. Because I admired the one last inteviewed i happened to stumbled in Utube. I got misty eyed there, Jack. Theirs is one of a kind ... :)
I'd rather hear about him than Paul McCartney, I am sick to death of Paul. John Lennon was the best writer of the two even though his lyrics could be dark. Paul writes glorified nursery rhymes. John was my fav when I was a fan in the 60s.
you can tell I am of a different generation, I used to say turn it down or turn it off. But I think he wrote Hallelujah so he was okay. For some reason I never think of any singer changing the world. Oops he did not write Hallelujah a Canadian did.Sorry
I was in the Marriott in Rochester, NY a couple years ago and there was a wedding in the hotel. The brides last name was Susan Chapman, Mark David Chapmans little sister. I had to wait for an elevator because the state police had Mark David Chapman in the hotel for his sisters wedding. I was a few feet away from him inside the open elevator door. It was the strangest experience to look at this man and think he looked familiar, only to find out a few minutes later I had looked int he eyes of John Lennons killer. This man seemed so insignificant to have done what he did. Mark David Chapman silenced a talented musicians voice and there he was allowed to go on with life and attend his sisters wedding. It just didn't seem right in the world.
I agree with the comment up above. Why should this murderer who silenced a man who stood for peace be allowed to go on with his life & enjoy things such as his sister's wedding?!? Some things in life just aren't fair or right.
John says, "The world is what WE make it. You know better. When are you gonna DO better?". Forgive the intrusion but blame John. I'm just the messenger. They speak to me and through me. I used to stifle it but they won't let me get away with that anymore. Time's passing and it's almost time...

ReplyDeleteI'd rather NOT imagine John Lennon at 70. It means I'm almost as old as dirt.

A tragic loss of one of the most gifted musicians of our time. When I think of John Lennon, the song "Imagine" immediately plays in my mind.
ReplyDeleteWow I can't imagine John being 70. He will be forever young to his fans.
ReplyDeleteThis morning I couldnt help but post this as I had watched a documentary/special on him and the Beatles last night.
ReplyDeleteHe thanks you for your attention and tribute. Now! Can I go to bed? Seriously, THEY do STILL exist on the other side.
