The US Health Care Reformation - Shall be a Declaration

Just saying the way it is. I really have never seen so much bickering in the attempt
during an attempt with the GOP and as well for that matter the people that reside in United States. Congress by way of only the one party was able to pass this and now it goes to the President of the United States. Lets not for get he was not the first to attempt this. It's been on going for years. Certainly it's a change that has been long in coming. And I am sure that it's very costly right now for a segment within the United States. I don't buy into everything I read, however most all know or I would hope know the key elements of this heath care reform. As well, it's within an American manner, not a Canadian manner but a system works pending on the culture and population of its people. The key changes to this legislation are that he truly desired for an American Universal Heath care system. Yet it's a major reform to say the least. The key elements of this reform are:

Key changes to U.S. health care

  • Very little change for people with coverage through their employer.
  • More lower-income people under 65 would be covered by Medicaid, the federal health insurance program.
  • Low- and moderate-income people would receive subsidies to help offset the cost of health insurance.
  • Insurance would be available through state-run exchanges.
  • Fines for people who do not buy health insurance.
  • People who lose or change jobs would be able to buy coverage through the exchanges, so they would not lose coverage.
  • Dependent children can stay on parents' coverage until they turn 26.
  • Many plans will be prevented from placing lifetime limits on coverage and they would not be able to cancel coverage for people who become sick.
  • Children could not be refused coverage for pre-existing conditions.
  • Adults who have been unable to get coverage because of pre-existing conditions will be eligible for coverage through a high-risk insurance program.
  • Higher taxes for high-income families.
  • Expensive insurance programs would be subject to a new tax.

Meanwhile the other party intends to appeal it but if they only looked to see what every industrialized country provides and then took into account where the world is going within the next ten years they may see a reason why there is a two tier system of Universal Health Care coverage in the world - not just within Canada. I say this as from living on both sides of each country and truly with a respect. Some things are just not that convenient but need to be done, some things are not necessary pending the times. But I do believe that some things do have the merits and have a very historical value although they might not be the most pleasant as we all live in a different means and ways...

  1. Good way to lay it all out Jack---you have a unique perspective only a few thousand people in North America have. Yes, it's not pretty much less convenient but it needs to be done and harder things have been carried out in both our countries.

  2. Ron Paul: IRS Will Steal More Money To Fund Health Care

Only thing that will repeal Obamacare will be bankruptcy of the United States, warns Congressman

Texas Congressman Ron Paul warns that last night’s passage of the health care reform bill will prompt the government to hire thousands of new IRS agents who will be used to steal money from taxpaying Americans to fund the new program.

Paul also told Fox News that the passage of Obamacare will only be repealed once the United States enters bankruptcy as a result of its exploding national deficit and runaway spending.

“Any time a government tries to give you a service or something of substance, they have to steal it from somebody else, so the whole process is immoral because it’s based on government theft, that’s why they’re hiring 16,000 more new IRS agents, because they have to steal more money,” stated the Congressman, referring to an analysis by the Joint Economic Committee and the House Ways & Means Committee that found “Up to 16,500 new IRS personnel will be needed to collect, examine and audit new tax information mandated on families and small businesses,” under the health care bill.

Paul said that the passage of Obamacare will precipitate a deepening of the economic crisis that will be “defined by the destruction of the dollar,” meaning government won’t be able to pay for anything.

“You cannot spend this kind of money, borrow this money and create new credit to finance this debt….medical care will get worse and this country will go into bankruptcy,” added Paul.

  3. Hi Jack.......I do not see this as a good thing for us....And to fine someone because they cannot afford health Insurance does not fly with me...Where does that leave my kids (who are not consider dependents) And i am tired of being taxed it is just another way for our goverment to suck more money out of us.....So we shall see how this all plays out our states still have a say in all of this....

  4. Nice to see you back Jack. For having seen people with no insurance go without their medication because they could not afford going to see a doctor, I hope it will make a difference for them. For the rest, I have too little awareness of the facts to make an opinion, and will leave it to our fellow American friends to comment on the positive and negative effects it will have on their daily lives.

  5. I am proud of him for fighting for the little guy. Someone needed too. I don't like the fines for people who don't buy, would prefer incentives to do the paperwork. Some folk are just intimidated by all the mumbo-jumbo in legal stuff. I don't see why anyone who is not handicapped should be on their parents' insurance after the age of legal adulthood.

  6. This was already within progress well before these times...

  7. I am as well Karyn the merits of the man and what he has been dedicated in doing truly do mean something ...and there are things I could be wrong with but everything has the ability to be amended yet a foundation is set down. I compare it to so many other things and I have known some that have no availability to medical. But I thought much before writing this but the merits of this are of worth. How many go without. And as far as companies that are saying they will have to go out of business really does not cut it with me as they seemingly do it in within Canada and in any other country that has health care. Yet there is something to be said of the relativity of the population of United States.

  8. Thanks Doug, I had been think on writhing this and there is much more one could go into but no person should go without. Yet there has always been a comparison to Canada's system. This is about the great US in the midst of making changes within a Globalized economy. Canada is the second highest taxed country within the world...yet this is not about Canada. As we do have our own problems as well.

  9. Jules this is not typical of my writes, yet I lived there and there is a bond there especially when one did see the some go without. I know there is much debate still but you really have to hand it to this President in his tenacity...things can be amended but if I recall correctly once a president signs into into law. It's law. So thus the foundation has began.

  10. Hi Danielle, I have not been on here for a while and I have been watching and thinking on this very area within the US for some time. Yesterday was a very historical day within United States regardless of how things do go. Or I should say I hope. I truly do hope as I have some very good friends from real life that have no medical or anything and they are citizens since birth.

  11. I was not and am still not in favor of it. yes there are some needed things in there, but they are few compared with the whole of it. it is what it is, i guess!

  12. Hi Linda, I have not been on much but at least a foundation is set. 32 of the 33 developed nations have universal health care, with the United States being the lone exception. Just a thought :)

  13. I keep saying to people, health care is good, there is a good way to do it and a wrong way. the Democrats (which I am a registered Democrat) chose the wrong way to go about it. it will be 2016 to 2018 before these people they say they are worried about will get insurance. Just does not make sense. Maybe it can be amended to a working .program that actually benefits the poor now , But I doubt it will happen. The Senate has a chance to make changes that will actually work but they will not. This discussion that the Republicans and the people in the tea party were asking for was a simple change to cover the poor, They were not against health reform. This bill is about insurance reform, and not coverage now for the poor.I read and i listen to the very people that put this together and , it is simply a mess.As I say time will tell.

  14. Tee, time tells all...my question is how were other countries able to do? As they did.

  15. Yes Jack, but universal health care has it's dark side too. It is a mess indeed, and that is a bad way to start anything.
Glad to see you on here again! :0)

  16. Linda in no way do I wish this to be political....there are some that know me that realize that I am not like that in any manner.
There are pros and cons to every type of medical system....yet no one had to go bankrupt due to it - non.
