I went to bed last night and I thought about yesterday where I was looking for a gym and then after I have taken a few pictures I met this one person from Kenya. Neat guy if you ask me. The there were all these older people getting lined up and then I could see that they all go into an area and walk on the running track. This was amazing to see the amount of people over 70 doing this while I was looking over the equipment within this place called the Field House. Literally every morning at 8:30am all these older folk walk the running track for a morning exercise. These ones have had a good time as they have reached there golden years and to go exercise or walk like this as they do during the winter. Oh this is something. Yet this weekend is supposed to go up in temperatures where we hit the 60's in F. These recent warm sunny days literally are the harvest of a spring that is coming into being. I went out as now all the sidewalks are all clear and I went around the block, which is rather long two times. There are places that you can't avoid the snow that has melted and the wet. Last week my intention was to walk and walk and if all was find then to get some good cardio going even if it was only for 20 minutes. So I have and now I am finding that all things are not perfect but there is nothing perfect for anyone. The most important thing is to find areas in which make one happy and if the byproduct does something for your well being as well as your health. I think that is kind of golden. Mind you my sock and running shoes were as wet as if I had walked in puddles that is kind of like life itself you render the good and know that there are some things that you have no control over. Yet there are some that you do. Let them grow...

It is good that older people have a place to go for their walk safely, avoiding icy sidewalks in the winter. Here I know there are shopping center that have these groups of people who join to walk around the mall (inside) when it is closed. It can seem silly but it is a safe place. Many older women would not get on the street, too afraid to walk alone. On that positive note, I can only say way to go... Good morning to you Jack and a beautiful day ahead!
ReplyDeleteA good morning to you Danielle and a good morning to you Heidi.
ReplyDeleteYes this is exactly what they do. Yeah I figure I would just throw on a sweats a running jacket plus hat :) and just go for it. So it's all good. The reason why I said hi Danielle is that Heidi always skims over the page but will never make a comment. C'est la vie :).
Good for the oldies.there is always more than one way to solve a problem.

Good for them, for us. Have a couple of friends here who are all in their 70's, wish i could put their pics here, and we get along very well. Liked their company more than the younger ones, maybe some other time after getting their nod. :)

ReplyDeleteGood day to you Jack, sunny and very spring like today in the UK. I hope your day is going well. I think its wonderful to see the older generation out getting exercise. Its so important to keep ones body on the move. All to easy to sit and sit and let that heaviness hold you back. Good to hear you had a walk and the paths are clear now:) I never know when a blog is submitted here as the time says 11.28 am on the last comment. It is in fact 7pm here. time zones are a pain!!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a good thing to keep moving!
ReplyDeleteexcercise is the key..meeting new folks while you do it, even better!!
ReplyDeleteI believe exercise is the best thing for the body and I make it every morning.
ReplyDelete' ' you render the good and know that there are some things that you have no control over. Yet there are some that you do. Let them grow ' '
I loved these words.
And, to truly be thankful for what we have. Life is not perfect, and it will throw us curve balls when we least expect it. But, this is how we learn, and grow to be better today than we were yesterday. Every day I see people suffering, going without what most of us take for granted. It reminds me to be thankful for everything I have, and to find joy in each and every day. Life is how one chooses to view it. I view it as a precious gift, and I am grateful for my family, my health, and for each new day. The disappointments, trial, and struggles we sometimes face are what remind us to really appreciate everything else that is good in our lives.
ReplyDeleteIf your shoes have holes in them, even if you shine them, your feet will still get wet. That is the case right now, but I still go out. :-))
ReplyDeleteHave you ever ran on gravel with bare feet? :)
ReplyDeleteVery true Heather.
