The 2010 Paralympic Winter Games

Athletes from 44 countries were welcomed to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Paralympic Winter Games this last Friday as they paraded into BC Place Stadium to the cheers of close to 5000 performers, mostly volunteers, who participated in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. As the International Paralympic flag was raised, the Vancouver 2010 Winter Paralympic Games were declared opened. The Paralympic Cauldron was lit, the external cauldron was lit at the same time and will remain lit until the closing of the Games. As for these athletes truly aspire to the stars and in many ways define something that is far and beyond the common grounds of competition. Now these athletes illustrate the true meaning within going far and beyond.
Their disabilities became abilities of the utmost in true spirit and quite achievement and you just have to applaud them for that. Yet within a manner where the competition had begun I find it to be on a much different level. One of which is really defines achievement to say the least. These athletes in my opinion have so much more really when it really rightly comes down to it, take a disability and render it into an advantage.

I think there is something to be said for that.

  1. Good night Jack. I realize it is late for a visit. I have come to see my messages and saw your post. These games must be so inspiring, to see these athletes going beyond their disabilities and achieve what we, who are supposed to be so called normal have trouble even trying. They well earned the recognition, and certainly can be proud of their journey to these games, and an ultimate place on the podium. I raise my hat to them.
