The way I look at it is that one has to look at things from several vantages. I do smile I have a hoot with certain areas and I enjoy this as it's something that I enjoy. I love the creativity I have but yet I like to keep it authentic there. One draws the best out of oneself by way of rendering the positive things. There is one funny thread within my blog that ya kind feel like your within the "Life of Brian" movie as to collaborate with others is something rather neat. As time has progressed there are literally very real people on here and it's truly amazing. I have heard where some feel they are more themselves on here that within real life. Well, I think that it's good to balance things out but right now I just literally love to write. I have said this many times within this blog.
My favorite areas are sharing things that have been benchmarks within my life. That does not mean that I wish to live the past but you kind of gain from the past. This computer has been acting funny lately and here is one tiff I have is that I never back up but I am glad that I have kept all the pictures that I have taken since way back not all of them but I know several people that do back up. Speaking of which, here in Canada they are looking to change the national anthem. I believe, that there are some thing that are much better untouched there was an article on it as today here in Canada was the speech from the thrown, ironically here within Canada we do have our politics as well and some of it's so liberal that if you ask me, I think "Oh Canada" the way it has been since it came into place should stay the same way. Yet there is always new ideas, but all these new ideas sometimes tend to forget what the historical value is within certain areas. Would United States, Australia, or any other country really wish to amend something at this time. I like how things are right now and I believe that something don't need to be changed. When we change certain areas within culture we tend to loose the fabric of what our societies stand for. That just my two cents. As here in Canada today we had what is called the "Speech from the Thrown". It's much like the address that is made within the United States and you know in some ways I don't even wish to look at it.
But that is just me. Yet as far as arrogance, I am not arrogant at all. I enjoy the time to write and read others as it was truly amazing and still is.
A flash drive will back up pictures

ReplyDeleteMy previous articles on this website explain in detail the lead up to the North American Union under the pretense of the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) and the cleverly disguised methods the governments of Mexico, Canada and the United States have used and will continue to use to change the face and the future of our North American continent.

ReplyDeleteI am not sure that I follow you Luke...if you have the chance elaborate a little more...
ReplyDeleteI have to agree. There was a time when they wanted to change the National Anthem in the USA to "God Bless America". But the composer of the tune, Irving Berlin, pointed out wisely I think, "America already has 'The Star Spangled Banner'".
ReplyDeleteTraditions need to be maintained. Life changes fast enough for most of us. Keep 'O Canada'.
Doug literally they are looking to make a change or considering it right now and it was changed once from "God Save the Queen" to "Oh Canada" and it's the fabric that Trudeau put into place. Irving Berlin was right. I like the anthems as they are. They're of a traditional value.

Now I don't know the specifics or the details, but in a general way, societies evolve and change and after a while may be quite different than they used to be. I would prefer songs that encourage love and peace rather than glorify war.
ReplyDeleteTOTALY WITH YOU ON THIS DJ
ReplyDelete..yes songs of LOve and Peace are..more encouraging..:)
ReplyDeleteDJ, I agree.
ReplyDeleteIt's there one an anthem that is just with regards to love and peace. I am just thinking right now of the lyrics of "Oh Canada" and "The Star Spangled Banner"....
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...
Yes we can gain from looking at the past ..it helps give us wisdom for the future...
ReplyDeleteMemories, some are sad but some are so beautiful..they all help form who we are
I tend to agree that the national anthem is something that must remain as it is, not only for the lyrics but also the music. It is not pop, nor jazz, it is an anthem. As for looking at the past, after all, it is what has made us what we are, in part from what have touched us and what we have learn from it.
ReplyDeleteI would rather choose the old national anthem than change it to whatever what is in today Jack. Its in that old anthem that we see, feel, and grasp what was being felt at that time, why change it. :)
ReplyDeleteYeppers Cheryl.
ReplyDeleteI am sure Danielle, that you have seen this recently on the news as well. We already changed it once and as when last night I posted it I do believe there is some value within traditions as mentioned. Sometimes no change is for the better. Just my own opinion.
ReplyDeleteI think that each country as mentioned earlier with Doug somethings we do wish to keep in tact. In Canada there was consideration back some time to a song called, "the maple leaf forever", but during the term of Pierre Trudeau he brought about something very unique with Oh Canada. I don't think that any country wants to change some of it's traditions - an anthem is something that gives way to cultural identity. I think that is a peaceful thing as well.
