"This car was only driven by an old lady that drove it to bingo three times a week." Typical sales pitch.
I went back to where I bought this car as the sensory devise for the engine light was in need of repair. Seems like it was just two weeks ago I was in there but it’s been a good couple of months. As I was waiting in the “waiting room” if that is what you call it you know the areas that everyone sits reading magazine after magazine for an hour if not more, I merged around and looked at all the new cars and talked to a few of the sales men. And a quick fast discussion with the owner. From which gave me a very decent deal on the car. I am not one that enjoys waiting. I will be honest – I just don’t enjoy waiting. To my surprise by the time I arrived and in getting through all the traffic, within an hour the service department had all everything fixed. This is a rather large operation. This Ford dealership it services are very large radius area and only has one other competitor within the city. Meanwhile there was a lady and her daughter standing there and I knew. I just knew they were of Spanish decent. Ironically, I will always approach in a decent manner. And to my amazement they were from Colombia, yet they have been living here for six months now and we started to laugh together as my Spanish has became so rusty, that I can’t speak it as well as I once could. I think not only were they intrigued with how well we hit it off but I was as well. It's been some time since I have run into anyone from this part of the world here. In another city, I found that it all came as a very normal thing - yet this city is growing. I find when you encounter people regardless of the culture it’s such a something very hard to explain the enjoyment within it. We did have a dialogue and the one lady was about to hand me her card as she was bilingual but one I mentioned some of the traditions – she came to understand that there was a very sincere dialogue. We laughed, we talked about Canada and Columbia some of the traditions that I recalled and we were laughing so hard that as it’s a manner that I really can’t point out as one has to have lived within it to understand it. It would be much the same way as Italians as close to what I could compare it too. Then before you know it the guys were all looking and saying, “Jack your car is ready. So I told the ladies that I have to go the one looked again for her card but she couldn’t find it but I can’t tell you how much I enjoy people and especially cultures. It’s the side of me that has shaped my life and I truly look at it in more of a plus than a minus. Mind you, I do tend to get into a conversation and if it’s really enjoyable, I really do get engaged with it all, come to think of it – now I wish that the car took longer to have this sensory devise replaced. It’s funny how when you get away from a language how it slowly does come back but thank goodness that they were bilingual and had a very great grasp on the English language – maybe even better than myself. And I didn’t pull out the camera to take a picture of them, I have started to realize that everything is not within a picture or moments can be rendered and remised without the need to capture every portion of life. However I did get a few pictures of this Merlin Ford as I thought while I sat there I would be bored out of my head. So that was a plus. Must be the luck charm of "Merlin".
I have always found that when engaged with positive people regardless of where they come from there is there is always some good cause and affect a reciprocating effect it you will. The car is working just fine, the weather and it's been a very decent day to say the least...
sounds like you had a wonderful interaction with the ladies and an enjoyable day; may your evening be as enjoyable!

ReplyDeleteOne time years ago we were looking at used cars and the sales man told us something I can't even remember the words exactly it's been so long ago but that it was driven by a minister..in the nearby small town which happened to be where we were from :) We also knew the minister that had the car so we later called him and asked him about it..He advised us not to buy it too many problems :-)
Goodnight

ReplyDeleteYet then better I not! I mean back in the days of living in shall we call it the "new york groove".
It's great meeting new people, I know I come across as a very silent person especially of recent but it's not the case. I am not sure what you call someone
that is extroverted when he knows that there is a connection with others and then just gets into conversing. I love it there is nothing that can compromise it.
As it just is - when I am 65, I know I am going to be just some yadda yadda yadda but hey it the shoe fits wear it :)
Life is awesome..............now bear hugs, that is one large huge you know Cinn :)

ReplyDeleteCaroline, it was right during lunch and I was out of there by 2pm. So it made my day. I kid you not I find that in these times everyone is on the net and with facebook which I have had the hardest time with and am probably going to delete it but so often I think to myself "why not ask them to join?" - as I will explain that I love cultures and predominately cultures - that is when she was looking for her card. I kid you not. Good morning there to you in Ireland! Southern Ireland I may add! Note: I have facebook but all going well a "friend is going to reajust my settings in there but I am not on there much at all, I actually get frustrated to know end. Where driving a car, turn left, turn right, go straight, and stop at the light.
ReplyDeleteI love it light :)
Encouraging oh I could tell you a funny dream I had ! :)
ReplyDeleteA good conversation and laughter always makes one feel good. Glad you had a good moment there. Good night now Jack.
ReplyDeleteGood night Danielle yes it's great to have that enjoyable laugh it's always a feel good :)
ReplyDeleteYes, when I bought my Chrysler second-hand, the salesman told me that it was previously owned by a married couple in their 70's. It didn't really matter, because the car was in A-1 shape, and I have been totally happy with it.....never a problem, except for the A/C, which was covered under the service contract. So, maybe it really was previously owned by a couple in their 70's! lol!
ReplyDeleteNice sporty convertible you have there, Jack!
How I can relate!
