Isn’t there an old saying that if this month comes in like a lamb which it appears to be doing it will go out like a lion? Actually,“In like a lamb-out like a lion” is the converse of the original proverb, “In like a lion-out like a lamb”, which seems logical considering today its still winter but on March, 31st it will be spring. Turning the saying around was probably done by people wondering what to say if March came IN like a lamb this year. The original saying probably has its roots in astronomy because in early March the constellation Leo (the lion) is rising in the east; while at the same time Aries (the ram) is setting in the west. March is a transitional month and in most of North America winter weather is essentially over by the end of the month. I say this as one never really knows. However, on average, the weather at the end of March is more pleasant than at the beginning of March. Even though this month appears to be coming in like a lamb be comforted by the fact that statistically it is more likely for March to remain lamb like when it starts that way...
Keeping in mind who they say statistics are for.
all I know is I am ready for the little lambs :)
