My Cousin and his Clydesdales

I just arrived home after a jaunt out in the snow and then I had a call from my cousin. He lives in a small town here in Canada.  I was never raised with him he is 13 years older than myself, but his younger brother is my age.  Delvin is a farmer as well as a breeder of Clydesdales. It's unbelievable by way of technology now in how many horses he has sold. He and his wife just arrived back from Milwaukee and they sold this one. He took on everything after his father passed on and was not sure he could do it. He married at the age of 50 - I kid you not and he and his wife have does some remarkable things while his brother whom had the very same chances seemed to go another direction. Now he was so against technology and then now when he found some of the top companies many came up to see all his horses and he is one of the leading breeders of Clydesdales within the world - I kid you not. And the only reason he has been able to build these contacts from such a small town is only by way of the Internet. The picture above is one of his horses that he sold for over $50k to a gent in Milwaukee.
They are tremendous horses and hopefully before the end of the day he will have sent me a few more. They are tremendous horses to see, the strength and the size of them is truly amazing to say the least. Who would have ever thought without technology that this cousin of mine would have a secondary area to his farm and render more than what he makes on his farm. Secondly do we still trade between nations as of today's talk on the phone I would say certainly so. He just arrived back last week and so often companies will fly into see his horses and then there after he and his wife will decide if they wish to sell as they never really thought of selling but rather just competing as a hobby throughout Canada. Now they have been to more states in America as well as Canada.

Yet the beauty of these horses...

  7. i love the Clydesdale breed of horse, they have such a nobleness about them. My grandfather was a farmer in in the western US and he did not have Clydesdales, but he had the large Belgian horses for his "tractors". I have often heard that he was admired for his horses. Thanks for bringing this to mind and for showing us the lovely horse pic. Your brother and his wife are truly very fortunate people.

    blessings,

  13. There are so many very large stables here but this cousin of mine never went that route he farms first and the Clydesdales are a hobby. There are some stables one in particular 20 minutes out of town that has at least seven barns that raises Arabians...horses are something I can't place my finger on it but perhaps a carrot will do. :)
It's not my brother this is my cousin, whom lives some 3 to 4 hours away.

  14. Your welcome I was raised in NY - which is near there and within the southern portion of New York State there seemed to be a host of many breeders. Your most welcome
