It's December

For the life of me I can't believe that we are at this time and how it has already come so fast.

I shovelled my neighbors and my own drive way two times. We were not "groomed" into this. It happend so fast. So for two months I guess this is something that one has to put up with. This evening while I was watching some television. I heard a shovel. It was John next door, I only know him from today's date as I went out to tell him that I started something and he was not obligated. We talked for a tad, and he said "as you know my wife has just had a child". I knew this and that was why I was doing the shovelling. We talked and he asked me where I was from. That happens so much - it' beyond believe now. So I told him and then he said that we will get together. I told him when it was the right time and he said that his wife has been asking him to come over to say thanks. So we will get a chance to meet and sit back and have some whatever you call it. He is from Newfoundland, and she is from Alberta. I don't know how these people meet - but I do know the both of them are really decent.

As well...

I was writing on Love and the various areas of it but at the same time it's nice to do other things as well. I had mentioned this friend of mine that is now in Florida. We talked for two hours last night and we are like brothers. The one thing that I wish that I would have done when I was younger was to have my American friends meet up with my Canadian ones.

That was something way back that I thought of but never acted upon.

But still when you speak with these friends - you just can't beat it.

  1. We have lots of fresh white stuff here, too, now. I guess it's time. Happy shoveling!

  2. I would one day like to find a way to have all my friends from various countries meet up somewhere. I was going to try to get something together for this year's Renaissance Festival and have a dinner in the castle, but things developed in my personal life that prevented making such plans. Perhaps next year will be better.

  4. Too cool don't give up that plan. What takes place in one's personal life is what it is. But the forthcoming year leave that door open..if I may say.

  5. Shoveling snow! Oh, my! I guess I am happy it's only raining here. I do not mind the snow, in fact, I love it but not so much that it requires shoveling! Take care and I am glad you are getting to know your neighbor.

  8. I agree with Cyn, God puts people in our lives for a reason. When we become open to the possibility, that's when things usually happen. You can keep that white stuff up there, it's 65 and breezy here this morning. :)

  10. A ton of snow was dumped on us last night. The weather forecast had predicted 5 cm (2 in) and we got 25 cm (10") and that wasn't all. We also got rain that turned into drizzle and we woke up this morning to find everything coated with ice. Scools were closed so we have the grandchildren today. Commuter trains were late this morning and some of the roads were not completely plowed so many people chose to stay home or go in late.
Despite it all, I love the snow (it may be because I no longer work ;-)) ). I even went out and showeled for a bit. The trees are coated with snow and ice and everything looks so pristine and magical, it's a beautiful sight.

This is our first big snow storm this year and that's why I find it exciting, I may change my mind later on once the newness wears off or the shoveling becomes too much.

  11. Right now it's just shovelling like I have never seen and it's cold. This is why here we appreciate the other three seasons so much.

  12. Lyn we were the only ones in Canada to not have snow and now we got it and it first started with rain. Today is the first day that there is none and this is what we call "cold".
So for two days we will have warmer weather and I am sure you can see on the weather network that we over here are going down to -25 in two days.
    It's time for long johns!

  14. Tremendous neighbors I could not believe that when late last night I hear someone shovelling. So I went outside and I knew when this started that his wife needed to have the place shovelled and we talked and we have a mutual thing going on right now with the shovelling.
    Perhaps so Cyn, perhaps so!

  15. White stuff called snow has been in Wisconsin since arounds Nov 22, and I am sick of snow already! As for Christmas, it is upon is, tis the time of the year when people are nice, kind, caring, crappy, unforgiving, nasty, strange, weird (thats me) and plain out of it. I like the nice, kind, caring, strange n weird, as thats more than what I am accustom to during Christmas. My ex hated the holidays and made them miserable for me, so none hold any joy excpet Halloween n thats cause of the cute kids dressed up in costume. BUT this yr i wanted to change things for Christmas, not only will i donate preemie clothes to the preemie ward but we are going to go Christmas caroling at the local nursing home, i got some local firrefighters to go along with it. SO... maybe the gloomy gus will stay at bay if i work a bit harder on my side to bring cheer to others. Because when one does soemthing for others with no expectations for naything back, u feel better inside. so Merry Christmas, and anyone who wants any white stuff let me know ill send ya some of ours!! hehehe later... Sue

  17. I've heard people complaining about winter and snow....although some love this season. As I've been interacting with Japanese families here in Thailand, some housewives love it here in Thailand as they don't have to shovel snow in their driveway before their husbands leave for work. Others, especially the younger ones, love the cold winter snow for they enjoy winter sports.

Over here where I live right now, December is just a nice and comfortable month in Bangkok although the weather in the northern part may be much colder. Bangkokians and even Thais from other parts usually go to Chiangmai and even go further up north of Chiangmai to experience the cold season. It is fun in a way, but I believe that shovelling snow isn't really that much fun unless one thinks of it as a form of winter exercise.

How about relaxing at a beach resort in December? One can't do that over there, right? I have plans going somewhere and enjoy the breeze from the sea...enjoy being close to nature and just relax before leaving for the destination that I've planned to go. Feel free to tag along, my friend...lol

Wishing you all the best in this season of snow and White Christmas!!

  18. It's hard to believe it's almost Christmas. Wow, this year really flew by! I am with you...I don't like snow either. So far my area has been lucky and hasn't gotten any of the white stuff. It's always a pleasure getting to talk with friends whether they are next door or miles and miles away.
