What is Peace to you, if I can kindly ask? What do you imagine as a better world in a manner that can be ideological, or straightforward. Here is where some will partake and some won’t.
I really don’t know why. Do we live in a society that is only based on “I”? Everyone has his or her own ideals and perspectives. And I certainly know that everyone is tired of this area to even be discussed however each and everyone of us have something that we desire. Some have more some have less. I think that within the dynamics of a world being one that so desires for peace this is Iraq has become a sensationalized issue now – within politics. Yet we as ordinary human beings do have our own vantages on how we would deem to be a better world.
Not going to say it – but I think that no one will even touch this write. Why – I don’t know. With a few I do know why. “No one can achieve anything in this world without the mankind.” We are not an island onto ourselves. We are who we are. That renders somthing with regards to how we see a better world - from our own vantages.
Ohhh ;-)... I wouldn't say no one..lol. I'd like my mind 'at rest' for a change. My heart not to hurt when I look at children starving. When I read the news of the killing fields, Darfur, Iraq, and everywhere else there is murder, rape and pilage going on right now... I want to cry. When I see kids and thier mothers dying of HIV/AIDS I feel helpless, just full of so many feelings... none good. I just want to be at rest.
ReplyDeleteG'day Jack & friends
ReplyDeletePeace to me would be in a world where everyone could follow their own beliefs, without fear or favour, where it would not be a crime to voice your opinion, where greed was no longer a god, where one country did not starve while another had abundance. One just has to look at the two great nations holding elections for leadership at the moment, I have no idea how politics works, but I listen to the petty personal attacks, the lies & the misrepresentation between the contenders hoping to rule so called peaceful nations, And I think to myself, what hope is there for a peaceful world when this is how leaders are chosen. Like every sane thinking person of cause I would wish for world piece, but I honestly feel that it is an impossibility as long as there are human beings being human, but back in the real world all we can do is whats right for us & hope for the best,
Peace to me is a state of mind and soul in which each of us remains in balance with others and that which surrounds us. It's a constant look within to offer assistance, solutions and understanding. It begins with each and everyone of us and transmitted to the world.
ReplyDeletepeace is NOT about allowing other's to maintain thier own system of beliefs, as MANY have a belief system that peace lovers should all die in the name of their own god.
ReplyDeletepeace can be achieved in a worldly manner when peace is achieved individually. when we ACKNOWLEDGE and RESPECT each other, when we share what we have with others, when we give from within without expectation or demand, then we will achieve peace.
now try to get world leaders to buy in to that
wont happen, they are focused on demands and expectations, those demands include power and control. not ACKNOWLEDGMENT and RESPECT
so i only can work on my own inner peace and pray that others achieve it as well
i also make efforts to surround myself with others who are actively seeking peace int heir own lives.
peace my new friend~c
When I think about peace, it occurs in many levels. Peace can be about relationship within self and with others, and with the space and surrounding we live in as well. Perhaps at micro level peace is about acceptance of our actions and our inner voice – that it is not incongruence. Like being in an eye of a storm, there could be raging around and yet calmness can exist. And that is the nature of man too.
ReplyDeleteAm I not thinking about fellows in various war torn spots where many became pawns to the powers that be? After days turn to years; and in some places into entire life time - are we now immune to the hardship and sufferings endured by those affected? Perhaps I do as myself continue with own pursuit of immediate goal attainment. Am I at peace - hopefully, in prayers.
Peace to me is simply being able to accept the moment just as it is, without any stresses or worries. Knowing that everything is perfect just as it is. This is peace to me.
ReplyDeleteI agree I think that most all wish to live life. Yet we all are concerned. But for the things in which we have no control over we accept. A mindset if you will
ReplyDeleteWithin the moment there is peace.
ReplyDeletePeace is probably one of the most spoken words in many languages in the last few years. I don't know a human being on this earth that does not want and desire peace.
ReplyDeleteI think that peace is an important truth but only a partial one. The important picture is bigger. And not even we can comprehend it.
ReplyDeleteBut we can see enough to know that there will always be tension; within our selves, with those we know and between our various tribes. And these tensions are actually part of the dynamic of life; even the most beautiful garden is full of strife.
But while there isn't and perhaps shouldn't be a utopia in this evolving agitated universe, we do need to manage tensions before they erupt into counter-productive hostility. That requires both good will and skill.
So by all means let's dwell on the lessons in Iraq. And let's dwell on the lessons in our own lives. And let's get better at living as we do.
