Royal Tyrrell Museum

Good morning while I am on my adventure - this is the first true time I have looked at this and without looking at a forum of messages out there. I just came here. I am in this area that is very interesting. It's a very small town but in the summertime I can see know why it's such an attraction. We went to the Royal Tyrrell Museum.  Amazing place. During the off-season I met people from Germany, Korea, Holland, Australia, United States and New Zealand.  I never really thought too much of this Museum as I heard about it but I thought that it was a “small town museum”, if you know what I mean.  But I was completely wrong.  I have passed through this town of Drum Heller many of times in going from on city to another. But I never have actually logged here.  And I can see know why it attracts over half a million people. Not on an annual basis – during four months of a prime tourist season.

Now you take a small town that is really economically dead. However there is many things going on here and I have always found that small towns in western Canada to have a history and do thrive on some means. Whether it is manufacturing, or something tied into the natural resources of oil, potash or the diamond mines. It’s morning and I am rushing this as I have a meeting with a man that owns many things here in the city and awaiting his call, but this is my write and right now it’s –11 Celsius in temperature.  For me I am learning more about my own land.  I have never really looked into doing this ever in my life. My interest always was eastern philosophy and American history.

Quick last mention here - The Museum that I am referring to is the only one of it’s kind – with the exception of a duplicate that was made in China. I don’t’ know why that is – I have not had the time to look many things up on the Internet but it’s very interesting.

I was talking to an older Italian man yesterday and he had indicated to me that one hour south is the place where all paleontologists and archeologists from various universities are set up.  It’s just very interesting.  I never expected something from such a small town.

Jack, the duplicate museum you are referring to must be Zigong Dinosaur Museum, in Sichuan province. Sometimes, it might look like world apart, yet share such close commonality. Very happy to hear of your adventure.

  5. It could be and your more than likely right. I have not had the time to look into it as I am just taking in what I have been seeing and right now it's 6am here and I am making a list of the things I want to do today. One of which is meeting with 7 old senior citizens to talk for breakfast about the reason is to gain more insight.
