Perhaps co existence would be a better title...
The earth is not all the old really when you come to think of it and how you relate to it. It’s amazing to me I remember since I as five years old how I would be at my window in the evening gazing at the stars and wondering what all is out there. It created a curiosity that has carried on ever since. Many ancient inhabitants based things on the stars and the skies. The aboriginals, the Chinese, and some other cultures based their life on the ways of the lands, the skies and as well the stars. For myself it’s incredibly interesting in the way it all started. Some would say it was an inspiration of a force. An energy that would bring together all ideas and religions of what we base our lives on. Maybe just maybe, we are missing out on something due to the reason that we think in according to one type of thought. Or perhaps we are not.
How long it took mankind to accept that the earth was round. That was a conquest for some to have to look at things from another angle. And more importantly how many conquests and lives it took to prove this theory.
Look at our other inhabitants of our world – the animals. Animals will act differently during a full moon, as there are gravitational pulls that for some reason they notice instinctually.
When a storm comes our other co inhabitants realize some things that we need technology to understand. Is there something we miss? Perhaps are we as a society so self involved that we are missing something?
I don’t think mother earth is missing the forest for the trees. She’s missing the forest and the trees. Meanwhile we are thrive on more wants than needs. It mimics history in so many ways, however the world does cycle - in our own way, and maybe we will come to learn that life is not just regarding what was mention in my previous post, but now and then we think outside of the box. However a box can't fit into a circle, yet a circle can fit into a box...
I find the idea "we thrive on more wants than needs" at the core of our conflict with Mother Nature and by exploiting her natural resources we are jeopardizing our survival on Earth. ~ Papa
ReplyDeleteWe act and pray for good changes to make earth better for people and animals, and for the sake of the earth itself.
ReplyDeleteG'day Jack & friends,
ReplyDelete"we thrive on more wants than needs" I also feel this is our main undoing. Mankind is a very curious being.
Maybe if we stopped trying to make the world a better place, wasn’t it near perfect before mankind came, and filling his needs & wants from it without thinking to replenish as he went? Maybe it is mankind that needs the overhaul to make this what it once was.
What if the the two dimensional circle be transformed into a three dimensional sphere, with its radius twice the length of the box's vertexs distances? **smile** {{Maayan thinking, if there is parallel between philosophy and geometry ... or may be just fanciful thought}}. Will have to get back to this later, Jack.
ReplyDeleteI agree with papahere, It is the simple truth. This is a wonderful post jack !
ReplyDeleteI don't think we are so self involved at all, quite the contrary. We might think we are because we are looking to what we want and need but only in the outside. Personal knowledge and introspection is nowhere near where it should with each and every individual. We don't take enough time to dig deep within our heart and soul. You know what I'm talking about, you've been doing it for a while, trying to find your place in the world and we should all take the time to do it as well. It's time we claim some time for ourselves and to what our human nature's needs in order to grow and evolve properly to create harmony within, among each other and the world.
ReplyDeletenot only us gazing upward and beyond the stars, but I also think of all of the tiny universes that exist within our world... (this is something that has stuck with me since I was small and read the Dr Seuss book, "Horton Hears a Who" lol no I don't think there are a bunch of little 'whovilles' out there.. hmmm well, you never know)
ReplyDeleteThat makes for a tremendous quote...
ReplyDeleteSeems this way, when we are in harmony with it some how there is synchonicity. As well Brenda can relate. Needs and wants is something that we do thrive on. And here I am awaiting one friend and taking the entire day to move into a new home. This morning there was a white snow rabbit that seemingly was comfortable with the climate. However I wasnt. But we adopt, as much as possible. We all can be at conflict with mother earth. For some reason our co inhabitants seem to have adapted much better than I have! ~ smiling ~ Thank you Papa.
ReplyDeleteWe never know and it's been a long time since I recall Dr. Seuss, however behind the cartoon, there was a person that wrote with meaning. Yet who knows as we dont really know it all. Thanks Jane (if I recall the name correctly apologize if it's wrong).
ReplyDeleteYour so right Clary, we don't. We don't take that time to just take one hour each day to enjoy and be amidst something that brings about change. I found that during the first trip I took into the mountains of Drumheller. I found hiking and climbing was something that brought about something of a value that far surpasses our fast lives. When we claim something of value - we gain something that incorporates many things.
ReplyDeleteAs well, Wendy has mention and I know she would be thinking on this area of slower speed within life rather than the fast speed. Some of us are in the same age range here and is our generation returning to the ideals in a new manner of our grand parent? I am not sure, but I think that we all can have harmony - and most of all it does take some thought, but then it becomes natural
I know you can relate with this one. As you write on this area, and it's one area that I truly do love to write about Brenda. Thanks for dropping bye. Mean that.
ReplyDeleteTime to make a call to my friend and see if he is ready to go buy furniture and then move. Meanwhile, I will be staying here in this hotel until Saturday. As I have a ton of things to do. It's a fast world - yet it's about balance. ~ Why not ~
ReplyDeleteJust posted something that might interest you Jack ...It is about Mother Earth .
ReplyDeleteWill be there Brenda I have been finalizing moving into a new place, and well it's been a long day to say the least - in a good way. Will be there.
