This now has been my second week since returning back home here and I had placed a saying which myself and a friend where talking about. It’s about the people that come into your life. Upon returning I have been catching up with old friends.
Yet there are some new ones which have been made as well. In returning with one friend we were catching up and I could not resist to place on my blog this saying which must be a quote by some one at some time.
“There are People that will come into you life for a Season”
“There are People that will come into you life for a Reason”
“Then there are People that will come into your life --- Just to say Hello”
Ironically our get together was of more laughs and talking about the things we both have been doing. Nearly at the end of the day we went down the center of the city and just sat and caught up on things. But the meaning to this saying is about relationships. There are those whom do come into your life for a period of time, there are those whom will have purpose and mutuality which surpasses any given timeline and then there are those for what ever reason just are very short term.
Despite the pros and the cons within the day. It’s great that there are those friends which have stood the test of time.
That all said – when walking back to the car. We walked up and down and the car was gone. I knew that the crime rate had gone up – we looked and looked and then we waved down a taxi. Mind you my wallet was in my bag and her purse was in the car. While in the Taxi I thought to call the police – yet I didn’t have my phone – yet she did and it ended up being toed away because she had three parking tickets from 2010. It wasn’t great, yet at least the care was not stolen. As the next situation was how we were going to pay the taxi driver. What a relief!
Then the next situation was the compound that the car was toed too closed at 5pm. We were relieved as the car had not been stolen, but the cabbie was stressed out as he said, “I have to get paid, and I must rush to this compound.” We both were holding our laughs as he did find a way to beat the traffic.
Finally we arrived at the compound paid the ticket which was only $30.00 dollars but that was far better than what it could have been.
All in All it was great to enjoy the time with a good friend who is funny yet very reasonable. Mind you I told her that next time we go out I might think twice about it.
She laughed and I think next time I will do the driving!
wishing all these were true ...
ReplyDeleteMy son's car got toed several years ago and they charged him $150 to get it out of their impound yard. They're pretty crooked in the Houston area.
ReplyDeleteWhen you discover your vehicle isn't where you left it, you get hit with a hard-to-describe feeling of WHAAA...?!
ReplyDeleteMy truck was stolen from the parking lot of a health club in San Diego and when I walked out and discovered it wasn't there, it was like "OMG... I can't believe this!"
For here it was bizzare as well as they could have wrote a ticket and place a fine on it for the payment. I guess it's the new way to make more money yet something seemed to be wrong with this picture. Maybe the commissionaire was a newbie.
ReplyDeleteChuck that was the feel after three walks up and down this avenue. It was a process of illimination, and a lengthy one yet it didnt overshadow the hour get catch up along the river.
ReplyDeleteThey had a story on the news just this evening about an officer pulling people over and having their car towed in the Houston area. He was reported and is now about to undergo punishment for the scams he was pulling with the particular wrecker driver. I don't know if they're charging the wrecker driver too or not. They should, though.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know it was a common practice to tow people's vehicles over parking tickets.
ReplyDeletePretty sure that would never happen here.
It's not Chuck....there was something wrong with that picture but neither of us persued it further. As that is not the common practice. I would surmise that the commissionaire was new - I never had that happen. But we just chalked it up to remembering to keep ahold of my wallet.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a wise idea no matter WHERE you are.
ReplyDeleteI rarely let my cellphone, wallet or car keys get more than a few feet from me.... EVER.
It's same here - I always have this small Nike bag I take along with me yet I do forget.
ReplyDeleteAnd I 4 - GOT.
