It was an enjoyable day mind you we have had again some snow I feel like I am in North Dakota but wait that's south of here.
All kidding aside after breakfast I went out trying my hand and legs with this climbing electrical poles. I can tell you it's not easy, yet while attempting to get up there as electrical lineman do, I only was able to climb half way up. It has to be one of the hardest jobs yet the pay is good actually when you bring home at a young age a net amount of $ 3,000 thousand a week - I never made that kind of loot when I was 18. Yet that all aside how there is a deep
connect between these two brothers. The young one always looks forward to his brother comes home. There is something to be said of seeing that relationship.
We spent the entire morning through to noon just climbing and actually having a hoot of a time as the youngest one can utter out some of the most hilarious things and there is something within that smile. I most enjoy the eldest as we talk about many things and he is at that age where not too many make what he makes - yet he is tremendously smart and as well he has a mature nature which far surpasses his age.
For the life of me I kept trying to get up these old power line polls and once I was half way up then I would come down and I didn't wish to do that bouncing down the poll and hurt (how can I say this, ok Jack you can)umm here we go... the old family jewels.
Yet when standing afar you I came to see that there was a great relationship between these two at such a young age. We tried this all last weekend and still it amazes me how fast Chris can go up and down, not only is he agile he is a mentor within a manner to his younger brother.
There is something to be said for climbing these old electrical polls and then there is something to be said with the relationship of what I took the time to observe.
May you have a Peaceful Sunday
It sounds like you got a bit of a workout.
ReplyDeletethe camaraderie and the understanding of two souls united by birth is overwhelming, but the best of all is the love present between them.
ReplyDeleteThe innocent smile coming from the lips of a child is so pure and contagious that you will really find yourself engaged to it too, unknowingly.
'got a good laugh when i saw you hanging by in that pole. Am sure you enjoyed their company.
Hi Jack, your story remind me how I spend many hours with my friends climbing trees when I was young. We had special climbing trees that I might still recognize were I to go back and look for them. There were also big area's with only fir trees and we used the climb in one and when in the top start swinging till you could grab the next one and so on. very exciting I can tell you. :-)
ReplyDeletesounds like an enjoyable day, and time well spent!
ReplyDeleteI have been training for the last two months now, yet to try this - I thought it was something of ease.
ReplyDeleteNo way, the one son does 10 to 15 poles a day as a linesman, Rodney he can literally climb up these
poles within a minute if not less.
There was something between these two and to see it is really something which Maritess is hard to explain yet it's two souls on of a
ReplyDeletemature one and the other which is as you say. As for myself, I found something good within all of this and for myself well. I tried it for the
second time and there was no way I was climbing up to the very top to then wabble down and get splinters where I never considered
where they might land. Gotcha :)
Hi Wilbert, I used to climb trees at this age as well. While in upstate New York we had five large willows and around 15 pines. Back in those times as kids how we climbed - I can so relate to this as there was always that time where myself and a Mark and Kevin were up to the very top and then you would hear, "it's suppertime." Those were the days.
ReplyDeleteam on Jack and about to sleep for a few hours and then go again to file something.
ReplyDeleteYou really got me laughing there, if you only saw me, but, don't ever ever try doing those again, pls,. :)
It was and one day just does lead into another. Mind you groceries and the laundry are being done as I write here Loreen.
ReplyDeleteOk here is one for ya - if you notice the picture of me it's may look like I am way up there but
ReplyDeleteI am only about ten feet of the ground with that picture. :)
laughs* ... ok :)
