~ Thanks Giving ~

 

I honestly don't know of all the countries which celebrate Thanks giving. I do think that it is something which comes by way of or within the "Americas". I am thinking here this evening as to what to post with regards to Canada and Thanksgiving.

Apart of my Sunday I went to a cememtary and was amazed to see how many had went to war without the need of a draft. And then as well, Thanks giving came within it's inception within Canada. It thereafter was adopted but the meaning of Thanksgiving was within history with which began within what is called Upper Canada. After the harvest was done each and every community of people within a town would congregate as the harvest was done and it was a time of celebration. History is interesting to say the least.

For myself it's a nice day of serenity a day whereby you can be thankful and yes Canada is a country which is founded on freedom. It's not the same as it was a few years ago and of recent Canada has been much more productive across the entire world. Within this new Canada which I think is applicable as there is a boom which is happening within the country while to become a Canadian is far harder than many other countries. We are a country which was founded by the English yet right now and within the last two years Canada or Canadians can be thankful. The reason I find for this is that we have a solid economy, we are within a surplus of monies and althought we have the origins of those which first settled within the country there are more people from other countries now that do wait with the application process of being a Canadian. To the contraire of what most felt was a country which held within terroists as the thought was that there were no procedures in obtaining citizenship. It's a hard process and the time span to become a citizen is much more lengthy.

Today I did have a discussion with a teacher friend of mine and as we were looking upon the river we were sharing ideas as to what makes up Canada. He referenced me to several polls of which I am not sure where they are but Canada is that foundation of people of which first came to these lands and now there is so much work - that there is a large waiting list of people from all different countries which desire to come to Canada.

The manner of which I view it all is that Canada right now is probably a very desireable country. Ironically within this day and age it is the land of truely the free. I have never met within the last two years any Canadian which has felt bad about living within Canada - if anything they feel thankful that they reside here. I would tend to think that since the winter Olympics Canada seemingly came to be an inspiring country to those in so many different countries. I so often say humble when it comes to the Canadian experience - but just maybe this is a time of which Canada shall grow within it's population within these times. More so now that ever before within the history of Canada.

Yet I am still a firm believer that it does not matter where one comes from as it's more with regard to the person - yet there is something to be said about the land. The vastness. Ironically as it may be I recieve more emails from abroad. To keep up with them all is not that easy but within Thanksgiving - I don't have any plans. I just wish to enjoy the day as well as make a few old style long distance calls to friends from several places.

Is there a new Canadian experience which is happening? To honestly answer that I would have to say yes there is as within the day I do run into more people from so many different countries that it truly is amazing as well as enjoyable.

Thus here within Canada I am very content as there is indeed many things to give thanks for within a country which is truly peaceful, which is truly integrated with so many different cultures, and it's a senseable people - which seemingly is more of the likes of european nations and other countries as when you mention the word Canada - there is no controversy.

Thus when Thanks Giving came to be within Ontario way back within history. I don't think Sir John A. MacDonald would have ever thought Canada would be the nation of which it is. Thus I am proud to be Canadian and reside here mind you warmer weather within the winter would be nice but when you take all into account it's truly a place of less complaints and more enjoyment.

Thus for Thanksgiving I am thankful to be living within one of the most free countries within the world. The Future is that of opportunity and there is no seperation or polarization. As Canada just is Canada.
