  1. In these times of openness where just anybody can copy/paste, i no longer subscribed to 'Picture Copy-writes' Jack. I think that's already an obsolete reality. We can't hold on to our pictures anymore. Just my thoughts

  4. In Brazil there are copyright's laws, but since the advent of the Internet, how to police it and enforce the laws? unless the author discovers the abuse and make a complaint to the competent organs, so far... everything opened for downloading is copied all around the world. I read on Universities' theses, pages and pages without any citation, simply copied from other authors when i was reading for my master's degree.
Copyright is a complex issue nowadays.

  6. Long time ago when i first heard a certain group asking their friends/members to submit their best pictures with regards to their week's times subject, i already had then a feeling it could be used to a certain coffee table typed of books. It should not be, for the very reasons why the members/friends submitted their pictures is to just let the world knows and see those captured photos of the moments. If it will be use for any other means, the members and friends who submitted those should be informed in advance. And should be compensated according to number of photos submitted. Just my thoughts

  8. Yes there are and on sites such as deviant art people have had to may thousands of dollars for copy write infringements. That's one of the reasons I feel safe posting my original writing on Multiply. I have a time and date stamp on here of when I posted it. If they use it, I can not only sue them for using it, but also take every penny they made off of my writing. Some people say the TOS of Multiply gives them permission but it does not. I have run it by a professional copy write lawyer.

  10. The laws do apply internationally. That's why I always ask the artist when I run across a photo or graphic that I'd like to use. Some do not reply, some do say 'No' and others (as you did) offer their permission. I always appreciate those artists.
