Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country, ~ John. F. Kennedy ~ Would he be elected in this time and era?

  1. Be courageous enough to take the risks. I knew that first hand and has had the ample baptisms so to speak.
Would John F. Kennedy be elected in this times and era ... i do not know. Am i going to vote for him, just in cased. i do not know too. But i have my own ways to see and feel innate self of a person. Being boastful here, yet i feel i have the 'gift of feel' as they say.

  2. Sadly I asked a few to think quick and the answer was if he was running right now within this era the answer was from 10 - "no".

  3. I can't vote for a 'no.' i don't want to be judgemental and go for majority. We need to know the candidates and their inner mosts reasons why they are running. The is the most pertinent thing to know by voters and not vote for that so called 'charismatic feel' of the candidate. But then again. Who am i to say these things.

  4. I didn't vote for him. I was hoping at the time that Nixon would continue Eisenhower's plans to extend the interstate highway system. I was surprised that it did continue. I regret JFK's involvement in the Bay of Pigs and his sending troops into Viet Nam as 'advisors', but laud his handling of Cuban missile crisis and the Berlin blockade as well as the creation of the Peace Corps.

  5. Grammy Nixon....and Eisenhower were two of not the same kind. One was a former General and the other was not, that is between Eisenhower and Nixon. John Kennedy along with his administration decided not to use force after things were settled. Just my thoughts. Nixon well when he came into rule - he did prove what he was made of.

There after he left office as he knew he was going to be impeached. Nixon was no Eisenhower and history proves that.

  6. I've never totally agreed with Kennedy on this.

While I think everyone should keep the best interests of their country in mind, I also believe that every citizen has a right to expect that their country to also have best interests of every citizen at heart as well.

After all, we entrust our leaders in government to do what's best for us because, after all, the citizens ARE the country... or at least should be.

As for would Kennedy be likely to win an election in the current social climate? I seriously doubt it.

  7. I did and I do believe within this value which now has come to be an ideology - yet the man was ahead of his times in America and to most all nations - I stand to be corrected.

  8. I doubt with his history of indiscretions that he would be elected today. Too many skeletons in the closet. The lurid side of the press would have a field day with him.

  9. Quote made famous by Kennedy who simply restated what was intended for him originally written by Khalil Gibran before he said it to others. Interesting but little known fact!

  10. Nixon proved that himself, with a greater lack of ethics and abuse of power than any other president. He learned nothing of service to his country, seeking only power for himself. A great error on my part for voting for him.

  11. I noticed that someone did make the note of Kilbran and was most interesting indeed.
