Jack Layton was a man that had ideals and belief. While he held office within the city of Toronto. He carried out mandates as all do within those sectors which they are appointed and represent.
Thereafter he went into the Canadian Federal election and came to become the leader and premiere of Quebec. This was a first within the history of Canada. Yet since the time of Pierre Elliott Trudeau there has never been a time where the entire country comes to a halt. I have never seen it come to a halt as it has of this weekend. What he stood for was for the equality of all people. I believe he was a humanitarian and today was the day which his ceremony was held in honour of a man that departed much too soon.
Some within Canada have several different opinions of the man. I surmise that most probably many regarded him as a man one whom had done his best within this area of what we call equality. A man which was elected in Quebec as a Democrat. While some call him a socialist. I don't believe that there is an equation which compares him to the likes of those socialists which we see. Layton care for people. His mandate was for the poor and despite IRENE........the government by way of Prime Minister Harper made sure that the ceremony for this man took place.
Some have compared him with many others yet he was his own. There are some that are able to blend politics and their mandates. Jack's mandate was probably en route but he passed away before he could achieve it. There are those which do hold the essence of good will and are able to accomplish it.
When you see flags down across all of Canada. There is a heartfelt sorrow as there is meaning.
I wish his family peace during this duration of loss.
