Within these times I believe that there is that mentality of, "I don't believe it unless I see it". From what I have seen it comes to be evident that there was a success which we all wished to have for so long. Wars of a secondary nature came about with this mandate of "Wanted Dead or Alive". From my readings, it seems to me that within these times there was a triumph. A well planned out one by way of intelligence yet President Obama had to make the ultimate choice of if he would bomb this compound or go in with the best trained Navy Seals.
There has been this question of the pictures being made available. I feel that within this modern age world from which we live there might be a very good reason right now as to why no pictures have been placed out to the public. Think of the ramifications? President Obama as well as the entire entourage involve which included advisers, Hillary Clinton. I wouldn't think they have anything to hide. Actually I think they had thought this out all too well. Although Pakistan has indicated they never knew of this dwelling - well that's another situation onto it's own. As this was during the Bush realm as well. For what ever reason pictures have not been readily given out to the public, I think there is a reason for it.
Yet, we never gave praise to a President that made the same decisions of the likes of Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, or for that matter George Bush. President Obama is within New York as of tomorrow. He invited Bush yet Bush reneged on the celebration of this era within history.
When hearing interviews with former people of the CIA, Military, certainly there are questions that are asked. But my own feeling is that within these times too much information might be of a disservice to a country at large. We never knew entirely was Bush was doing, nor for that matter did we know all the inner workings of other leaders. Even President Clinton nearly had Obama, yet missed him by minutes. Yet he carried on.
I ponder if there is that much significance to Bin Laden any longer. But seemingly here too is where not only are Navy Seals at question, but the President himself. Do we need to know everything within a minutes notice. I don't think so. I think data might be collected and there after unveiled to the public - when the time is right. Yet I don't think for a moment that this is all a made up scenario. Within the probability factor I think Obama got as Bush said, "Get the Job Done".
Within getting the job done history within leaders of the past sometimes warranted measures to hold back information for several reasons. Scenarios seemingly shall continue. Maybe, just maybe part of the reason behind this is that America has a pact agreement with Pakistan.
Who knows?
Yet he made a decision, regardless if it was know over the last year that Bin Laden was within a compound in Afghanistan.
~ Jimmy Carter knew full well where detainees where and it cost him his election.
~ Clinton knew where he was but made the wrong decision yet carried on.
~ George Bush Jr. escorted the Bin Laden Family out of the USA within hours of 9/11.
Perhaps there is some time that is of worth before so readily giving out information within these times...

It all makes me nervous.
ReplyDeleteI talked to a man who had very high security clearance before he retired from the military, he said there is no way to do a good DNA test that quickly.
ReplyDeleteGood blog Jack.
ReplyDeleteNot at this times Jack. Let us all put that to rest. Respect should still be there, at least for the family and for the man himself.
ReplyDeleteI agree with President Obama's decision , How barbaric are we as a Country to need to see a picture of a dead man shot in the head, I do not say this out of respect for his family or for Osama, dont get me wrong, I hope he rots in hell.....If our navy seals say they got him, our President says they got him, well.....thats enough for me. Countries around the world are already going to be on high alert , why make it worse with an antagonizing picture.
ReplyDeleteI am suspicious because seldom do we get the truth..the banking fiasco yielded Madoff as a scapegoat and nearly everyone else got off..I just can't "buy" everything I am told..particularly when there is no proof..Bin Laden is reputed to have died years ago and even if he didn't I don't see how they can definitely say it was him..DNA tests take time..they don't want to anger the Muslims yet they dump his body in the ocean..big PR win for Obama could not come at a better time and the CIA can use all the positive spin the PR honchos can create..slowly, Americans have learned that there is the truth and there is what the government tells us
ReplyDeleteIt was something which I wished to write about the other night but I was side tracked Mel.
ReplyDeletePatty no hoax there is one within my family, my father which feels the same way. I do speak to him as time affords but he says the very same thing.
ReplyDeleteMike I think that Obama did something good and that the thought of placing everything out
ReplyDeletemight just be worse than better. I think he literally is a smart man in some of these calls
which he is making, or perhaps we have missed many of them.
gracias amigo for a very well thought out and presented opinion------gracias
ReplyDeleteI think that we are within a society where we can be come to be over rided by some areas. I don't know
ReplyDeleteone person of any religion which really desire to come back to this 9/11. I think we really wish to have
life without all the propoganda Maritess. Hence there are no absolutes. I believe that perhaps we wish to
live within our lives and not be over rode by areas which perhaps we don't need to know EVERYTHING.
Whats of value is life and the moment.
Pamela, many look at this man and I think he is a very sensible one and what he did with this as did former President Clinton, Jimmy Carter and many leaders of the past - is that information was that of the choice. And we live within a different time now, yet I have not even seen this picture or Bin Laden. Yet when I watched last night a documentary on how Obama handled this for the nation and I think there is something to be said for that. Within America the President of the USA does have ultimate power. And he exercised it within the most appropriate manner and he is sticking to his guns.
ReplyDeleteHere again, I feel the man is one of more integrity that we might all think. Integrity is something that summarizes the nature of how this has been handled by the President as well as those immediately around him - look at Hillary she has not said a thing. Wisdom and Integrity still are well within what I see within this. Those days of High Alerts are far gone I feel...
Many still feel that he is alive and well and regardless if he was alive or deceased would there be any difference? But there was a mandate since 9/11 and I think that regardless Rick there is propoganda and I have friends which are Muslim, for that matter I have a few friends which are of a different faith but within any religion within any country it can become fanatical. But aside of the news, I think there are more good things happening than otherwise.
ReplyDeleteYet money is made perhaps on creating fear? Seemingly within the world there is good news. If you look at the face of Obama in that observation room, I think one gets a real glimpse of how much he carries on his back. Yet now it would be nice for this to begone. As there are far more good things to be done as there shall always be the Madoff's, Exrons, and so forth but I feel that the merit of not placing any information out was a good decision.
Truth is a value and within these last ten years perhaps just perhaps we've come to understand that of which is important and which is not.
Gracius as I thought on this last night and then I myself opted not to write about it till I felt I knew a little more.
ReplyDeleteThe more was what I think I saw as leadership with integrity.
