MEMORIAL DAY TRIBUTE - PART ONE

Having lived in both countries and as well having had a true connection with someone within my family that was involved within several areas of the Air Force. And being one that has literally lived within American, I wished from here in Canada to write this in honor of the what Memorial Day means to me. In these times we are fortunate to have our freedom, sure things are not perfect anywhere but this is that day that I truly regard what America does stand for. And without anything more I think that today is that day in which we do honor the generations of people that have gave there oath and lives to afford a free society to withstand.

I don't wish to go further into anything more than to just post something in which I just wrote.

I usually will find that time to get into the zone if you will and each nation does have there own celebration, but on this fine day - there is a statue that hails on the Hudson River. She looks across and has seen many things within her time. In honor to all the men and women of the past and current. Memorial Day is certainly not something that should be taken in vain. For we would not have the luxuries of what we have unless there was all branches of the Armed Forces.

I thought I would post this and I don't have a title for this but it's to those that have paid the price to grant us our very freedom's and values that we so cherish and so often take for granted. Lets not, as I truly do believe in the merits of what these people do and how many right this very moment are within harms way - while we have all that we have. I certainly know one thing it's summed up in one word. INTEGRITY...

Hence my blog from last year as a beginning:

 

You the one who fell

From so far and beyond

Giving everything and the up most

To allow our freedom

Serving each day in and day out

So that we could rest free each night

Integrity illustrated in your dedication

In allowance to afford our peaceful rights

Thinking less of themselves

While affording more for the future

Just so we can live free

Throughout the history of war

Memories sit within each household

And for some much more

Sacrifices of integrity will never be forgotten

For those of each and every generation

Peace does have its price

So many deaths over the years

So many mothers thinking and having tears

Yes it's a price that is paid

In order to afford freedom to reign

In memory to each and every man and woman

We afford there is one day in which is afforded

We will not take your dedication in vain

For you have made such sacrifices

That we can only feel blessed

As freedom is the nation's truest wealth

There are tombstones and unaccountable souls

Who sacrificed so much

You will never be forgotten

As you are the pride of a nation and the free world

May you rest in peace

Understanding the thoughts and prayers

That goes your way from one coast to another

You are the heroes of our past and enablers of our future

Both young and old Shall remember you

As in memory of what you have done

Allows us to rise each morning

Yet it was you that paid the price

This is a tribute on this Memorial Day

In order to reimburse your honor

This shall not be forgotten

  2. Thanks Heidi, I know you know that I really wish to endeavour within this and I am going too. This you saw a year ago but the irony during this time was that those three ladies were medics and were training here before leaving to their post in Iraq at the time. The lady to the very left was the head medic as I recall and they were training here and thereafter were en route overseas. I thought this would be one to start of with within this area which I wish to go.

    As well, I thank you and it's nice to see you again as a year has passed and I have never seen you but you hail from Germany and you are American now if I am right and I hope to raise the bar ith this one. As well thank you!

  3. Grammy when I met up with them, back then the last thing on their minds was home obligations. One was married the other two were single. And they were well into that zone of service. They were more focused on the training they were doing in concert with some Canadians' and when I saw this here - it blew me away as this was within this city and it never was an Air Force town. But part an parcel to this story was they were drawn to my father at that time. And I left for a while as he met with them and especially the two pretty girls were taken by my father and perhaps they were asking some questions. But they were within that zone and too this day I don't know if they made it back or not. I hope they placed in the time and got back and were done with it. Yet they were more focused on where they were going as well as focused on what there duties were. I shall write on families - as there is a former Navy Seal I would like to write on as a part of this. So I think there shall be a few writes and I hope that it's fine with all as I am not planning to get to all of those on this blog during this time as I wish to write on some things which I feel are tremendously valuable.

    Last but not least - those that say war does not create peace. I shall write on this as well as peace keeping and all the wars which have been handled to this day have enabled the freedoms to practice religion, faith, of any kind. With no freedom many like within the Ukraine, never were allowed to practice religion.

    ................just a thought, and families are never prepared, but those which go into war, or have to leave for reasons of war - that is more than often discussed within the family and the families are as ready as they can be - knowing full well that there shall/may come a time where one is called to duty.

  6. Thanks Maritess - the mindset of predominantly all are that which is not done within a 2 week training course. They are all groomed into it. And ironically most all don't desire to go to war. That's the least thing of desire. Yet if need be, within the armed forces they are prepared. Memorial Day is most often a family day. Yet my choice is to write a little, from my vantage and experience coupled with that of one within my family which has been well known within military circles. So bare with me as I opt to commence this. No person that hails from civilian life knows what the merits of what this day is about. What I mean is they don't know what it takes to be of service to ones country.

  8. My dad and his 3 brothers all served in different branches of the military in WWII though I never heard them talk about it much. I think they figured it was their duty, they did it and it was over with.
