The Federal Election has come to an end and Prime Minister Harper wins, with a Conservative Majority, while for the first time in History the New Democratic Party comes as the minority - for the first I believe within history the NDP is the Majority government within Quebec...this was a first in Canada's History... http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canadavotes2011/map/fullscreen.html#/

  1. I admit I haven't followed the election as closely as I usually might, Jack, but it looks like the Liberals got spanked.

  2. Yes they did as they most often have either been the majority and it's all to interesting as we have the same Prime Minister with a slight majority. As the New Democratic Party nearly holds as many seats. The Liberals never have been so low in the federal election within the entire history of Canada. I thought as mentioned before that Harper would lead the country again with a majority - and it happened. What's of most interest is that within Canada there was a "blackout" which was introduced - which was for all Candians on social networks or especially this Tweeting. As the feel by Elections Canada was that it influence votes. I am not sure how well it worked but the outcome was good and democracy is still alive and well.

  3. Oh, hell.

Harper's a Bush-worshipper; I've watched the rise of the Neocons in Canada with some dread; now that this has happened, I'm hoping the Dems can hold back the tide. Reading blogs from up that way with people who are actually hoping to have a Tea Party of their very own makes me ashamed to be an American - we didn't find a way to keep the disease from spreading north, and now it may be too late.

  4. Harper nor his predisesor was anything but one that worshiped Bush. This term of "Neocon" for that matter is one that most all that I know within Canada don't even know the meaning of Will. Canada economically is probably where there is clarity. Although within Canada there has been division. Seemingly we Canada is coming to be something within it's own. It's not perfect nor is United States but the manner of which and by which Canada seemingly has done is different. My hopes are that we do continue on this path. As if Canada faulters it shall be one that is within the need of thought. But history proves that most Canadians have thought first before thinking last.

I think as of yesterday Canada might just very well be the democracy in which once was of an American nature within it's past. Yet who knows.

  5. As long as Canada follows it own path and stays away from extremism, all I think will be well .

  6. Doug Canada has never within it's history been an extreme nation, yet the landscape as of last night gave way to a change
that has never been seen within the history of Canada.

  7. Will it's one thing to live in a country. It's another to have lived within two countries.
There is hope as anyone that has experienced Canada understands what Canada is.
Canada has nor shall be anything of the nature of being an extreme country for that
matter. Canadians hope for relevance. This word extreme, it's one that does not fit.
As from within the USA, other countries, and within the lands of Canada. We have
never been an extreme nation, maybe a silent giant that does stand out, but maneuvers
with many nations. We still though carry this value of hope, but not only within regards
within our own interiors but with all of those in which we are in align with. That perhaps
is what Canada is. Yet there is many other democratic nations, aside of Canada.
Will we are within a global world.
