Well one has to go with the flow. While I was out I new there was something wrong with one tire and as it’s a holiday here called Victoria Day weekend. By they time I went out and got back my one wheel is on it’s spare until Tuesday.
Now that was not supposed to happen. Now here I thought that this one back tire of mine, which was slowly deflating, I thought it would be a mere quick repair. Yet that was repaired and the service manager said that due to the over whelming demand this weekend that this other back tire could not be replaced. So in some ways it’s the long weekend up here but at the same time, I didn’t plan for this but I accept it. Things happen when we least expect it but so be it. So it’s going to be an around the house sort of weekend but all the same it’s there are the highest waters that are up in these parts. I before I took notice of this situation with times I was rendered a picture of the river here. Which is the longest – not largest within all of Canada.
To those that celebrated this time Victoria Day around the world I wish you the very best. And to those celebrating just a nice weekend within spring I wish you the same.
,Happy Victoria day to you all in Canada.
ReplyDeletelove the photo..its powerful!
Never have seen this river this high in my life last year I was out east and now I know what they were talking about but many around the world which are crown countries observe this day, from Australia, New Zealand, England and so forth so it's much more than just Canada.
ReplyDeleteYes, have a lovely Victoria Day weekend as well Jack. Great picture by the way.
ReplyDeleteBack to you out there Mike.
ReplyDeleteoh really..Ive never seen it celbrated ,,in England jack?
ReplyDeleteIt began there I thinky. :) But I was wrong, ironically I thought all within the commonwealth did Caroline.
ReplyDeletenow i could honestly say, i beat you on that one for i could change tire in15 minutes! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Victory ... i mean happy Victoria Day' Jack.
well things happen for a reason Jack, maybe you are meant to stay home this weekend, I know you will find something wonderful to do to occupy your time. Have fun. hugs.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was about time Canada had a holiday, which means people on the road just like down here--too many people on the road. So a good weekend to you Jack and safe trips for all who celebrate Victoria Day.
ReplyDeleteIn spite of your tire problem, I hope you have an awesome weekend! Btw, that's a fabulous capture of the river ;-).
ReplyDeleteVictoria Day weekend is one of my favourites. We are carless types and don't normally drive much. I am hoping to begin some gardening this weekend. We might buy a fruit tree and a Service Berry, there is a type called Saskatoon Berry.
ReplyDeleteWe will also be buying the soil amendments as well such as triple mix, peat moss, cow or sheep manure and some much needed mulch.
I hope that your Victoria Day Weekend is still enjoyable in spite of being carless this weekend.
:)
Your river looks dangerously high.
Thanks Ppixielittlemagic
ReplyDeleteFor most here in Canada it is a good excuse to party. For me it is a good excuse to garden.
lol.
yeah it takes me a good three hours to do that :)
ReplyDeletePam, I am going to head out for a run and then do a visit with a friend of mine here at noon...thank you.
ReplyDeleteDoug for some reason I thought that Victoria Day was one which was celebrated by the all crown countries, but I guess not. Regardless it's fun washing clothes - not :) and then heading out. We are dependant on cars but I was told to not drive it so I shall take a run and then stop over at this friends. Wash I can't say it's my favorite but....Thanks Doug and all the best to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteBack to you Suzy...as always a great day to you on this weekend here we are at 65F with a little overcast. The river is something that really does make the city mind you it's never been as high as I have seen it as the southern parts have had much rain and there has been some flooding.
ReplyDeleteErika it's a traditional time, Saskatoon Berries - I know what your talking about but this shall be a simplistic weekend but it's within what one takes advantage of. In eastern Manitoba and Saskatchewan there has been much flooding over the week but not here but the river goes through three provinces. Enjoy it shall be nice to visit with a friend. I don't know why Victoria Day is only in Canada to be honest - it's to do with the original Queen Mother.
ReplyDeleteYes, they don't celebrate Victoria Day weekend in England is a mystery to me. My mother's side of the family were United Empire Loyalists. So it is my blood to celebrate it.
ReplyDelete:)
Nor do Erika but it's been a fine day all the same. :)
ReplyDeleteIt has been a great day. After spending it in the garden I am now looking forward to spending some time garden shopping a bit tomorrow and buying the soil for the whole co-op.
ReplyDeleteWe are keeping it under lock and key this time because it otherwise goes missing before I've had a chance to use it.
I hope that your day has been equally good in spite of having to spend it at home.
:)
The river looks to be running swiftly! We were in Canada on Victoria Day in 2009 watching the fireworks off a friend's balcony.
ReplyDeleteNancy the best two fireworks I have ever seen in my entire life were Macy's in NY, and the Benson and Hedges international competitions in Toronto.
