The first things she said when I was sitting there, "What are you here for?" Well this is not that large of a clinic.
I have the results of my MRI and I know right now that I have the wrong doctor tending to it. Both knees have several things she went through so fast and I would try to inquire what the meaning was but she was resilient on just reading out the letter from the and then mentioning that she did not feel that there was any need for anything to be done as it was not immediate.
So right now I am a question and in no manner with my knees am I a hypochondriac. I know basically there is a lesions of some sort on my right inner leg as well as well there is degeneration that comes along with age, but the one area of my left leg - is that the spongy material that is within there is broken in half. So I know.
I have taken the time to find out and now I will handles things in a manner that is fitting. So I will leave it be for now, see how tomorrow is, I know that from several different areas I have been held back and now I am making my way. I do have my family - my folks that I do get calls from, my mother is the main one and while she has pretty much thought that I should move back to my former city. As she sees various things that are not going so well from here. Mother's are not dumb regardless of what age they are. They are the foundation of families and usually very wise. I am going take tomorrow and see how it goes. And then I never makes any decisions in haste
I try to make them wise.
Your right mother's aren't dumb by any stroke of the imagination Jack she is has a feeling that something isn't quiet right with her son. I'd say you are wise not to make a decision in haste...but listen to your heart and you'll make the right move for you. Hoping that your knees get straightened out soon for you..I know that's a pain
ReplyDeleteIt shall all work out. As now I know. There is something to knowing and then understanding how to proceed.
ReplyDeleteYou have every minute of tomorrow and if need be a few more days to make your decision Jack. There is much to consider as to what is best for you...
ReplyDeleteSending lots of good wishes....
Can you seek out another doctor? Second opinion?
ReplyDeleteMoving on to the next step, a second opinion would be wise.
ReplyDeleteG'day Jack,
ReplyDeleteBy now you would have slept on it, and no doubt come to a decision, as to what you are going to do, good luck, I will be thinking of you in the meantime
I'd go for a second opinion. Sounds like Dr 1 is talking out of her backside.
ReplyDeleteMoms have very sensitive when it comes to understanding their children. She probably will be of good advice to you i.e. somehow help you think things through. It is frustrating to go to the doctor knowing something is wrong and hear them tell you it is not important enough to do something about it. She does not seem to have been very empathetic. Maybe you will find another doctor who will at least give you good tips on how to deal with what she calls normal degeneration, what you can do to ease your movements etc. All the best Jack.
ReplyDeleteSo, if I understand you correctly, both knees are compromised in some way or another and you feel that the care you are getting where you live now is less than you think is needed.
ReplyDeleteHail, oh Canadian health care!
Going back to your home town may prove just as annoying and you will likely get the run around there too.
Not sure if you have a specialist that is consulting on your case or not, but that would be my suggestion. In a large city - in a large hospital.
Again, not sure if an operation is advised and if so when and by whom? How long a recuperation?
Your mom has good instincts but as mother myself of 2 daughters who do require medical attention from time to time , it has been my experience that you need a team that will work with you and your specialist to ensure the best care possible. Be instant and persistent, go online and find out as much as you can about your condition and challenges, make a list of questions and bring it with you when seeing the team. Do not leave till you get all the answers you need to understand what you must do to get well and maintain your health.
The only person who will stand up for you is YOU!
Tell me something I don't know.
ReplyDeleteThank you Denise.
ReplyDeleteYes and I will.
ReplyDeleteI agree Lyn and it has not been an easy go, but I think I know what I am doing over over this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Wendy
ReplyDeleteSorry I am a little wiped with all that came and took place epiating my family doctor is rather new. With a large attitude, she just moved here from South Africa and when she mentioned all this without the options of what can be done .....well, I personally know a rhematoid specialist and it just so happens he is within another province. So I think I will go there. There are several things I have been considering and there is no doubt that it's been a drain. I thank you for your feelings on the Canadian Health Care System as it's one that billions have gone into but where does it all go? Any how, I thank you for your advisement. And I know who will stand for myself and who won't. I've been here before with one leg. And as well I have stood up for others and done what most amicable Canadians sit and allow happen. Thank you all the same.
ReplyDeleteYes this doctor is finished, she is just much too new and with a attitude that was unfortunate. It's much different here in Canada in comparision to other countries, but the first thing I did when I moved here was I should have looked around for a good doctor. LIve and learn.
ReplyDeleteThank you Danielle.
ReplyDeletehuggss jack... a weekend respite is best!!!
ReplyDeletewish you well friend!!
