Sunday is a day of rest. Today was the hottest day so far this year and I went out to the riverside in the morning and then I made few calls and had one call from a good friend that is wondering where what I am doing. She thought that I was laying out in the sun, but there is not grass here yet. It has to be placed in by the contractor with this house. So early in the morning I headed over to the riverside that is not too far. And then I realized that how fast this summer is going. And how much I wish to get things “planted” and I feel pretty much that it will only be done in a certain kind of way.
R and R it is, I only wish there was a beach that was nearby. But that being said I can think about it as being a beach with a lake or ocean. And I am not sure about you but on days like this last thing I wish to see is concrete – meaning shopping malls and streets, I just would like to have my own garden some place to tend to and enjoy off the back yard deck and into some area of grass, better yet a pool. Come to think of it I could buy a small child’s pool and lay in it all afternoon and read. I never thought about that one but I am sure that the neighbors would think I am half crazy.
However it’s hot, and I hope this weather takes some time. This shovel I had from when I had moved into an condo when I first arrived here in Edmonton, how I wish it was something that I could dig and make something from the soil, or lay out on the grass and read the newspaper and just take in the sun. So I am just making the most of what is and Sunday are those days that you just enjoy the day. No shopping, no anything just enjoying the time to just have that afternoon time to just enjoy things without having to be all over the place. Meaning areas that took me downtown, to the airport, all the rest that has been can wait for tomorrow.
I am enjoying the Sunday.
Great read ! It was hot here , too !
ReplyDeleteI always desire my life every single day . It is my lifetime passion .
Hi Jack~ I use to be a sun worshiper not any longer....I can't take the heat or sun...lol I guess that came with age for me but I did take it easy...
ReplyDeletewear suncscreen
ReplyDeleteIt's hot but it's been so ever changing here that I thought of getting a lawn chair, There are two adorondack chairs but the sun is to the front porch wich is rather small and I think everyone enjoys that privacy in their own back yard. I do as well, unforgettable.
ReplyDeleteToni I love the sun. I can describe how much I love summertime and this year it's been one that has been so different. Rain, sun, cool, and hot.
ReplyDeleteMy idea of a Sunday is just laying in the back and taking in the sun, but it is what it is. I hate the cold and winter so there. Smiles...
I never do, never. Honestly.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the invitation . I agree with what you said on my blog . I thought , you were going to be the first to crack the code . LOL
ReplyDeleteYour most welcome as I see that your writing creative, mature, and your are doing something that I have seen done by a few - that is trying to do something by way of writing and publishing. Kudos to you.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a brillant passion of mine . To be able to write something , and call it my own . To be inspired in a world that has gone mad . To fulfill my heart with intentions to succeed at what I do best . I am not trying to be the best , though . I am just myself . Doing the best that I can .
ReplyDeleteThank you for your words again .
Your welcome, but life is more than just a book. It's all the things that we have done and reflect on and inspire towards. Do not thank me. As I see this blog as a reflection of everyone. In a different manner. To try and dare to do something is something that many never do. Because most of all we are used to a routine.
ReplyDeleteIn order to succeed in life , you must learn to properly plant the seeds of life . So, it will nurish and grow beautifully , and perfect . Without proper care , it just falls apart . And just becomes another - Memory .
ReplyDeleteG'day Jack,
ReplyDeleteOn your hottest day we are shivering through our coldest & wettest, like you I love the heat of summer but never wish for beaches or pools, they are full of people, I prefer the shade & the peaceful serenity of the country or the mountains, which is depicted where we have chosen to live. Although I would prefer a little more shade if I am going to join you in digging that plot of ground you are working in. lol
Well the ground is not ready and much too tough to dig. I am going to just allow the contractors to do it, maybe it will be this year all I know is the neighbours have had it done and on a day like today to feel the grass or at least sand would be nice. But we are working on it. I am smiling as we have two more months and then that's it. And hopefully it's what we call an "Indian Summer" here and that Indian lived a very long long life. ie: a nice warm autumn that may be like summer - why not. :)
ReplyDeleteYou must live in a new subdivision that the contractors are going to lay the sod. You could plant a few bushes and some flowers before the cold winds come on in a few months. I hope you had a peaceful day in spite of no beach or pool.
ReplyDeleteYes exactly right. This is on the outer areas of the North West section of what is called Twelliger. The day has been a good one, as earlier I did go to the river and peace be with you as well.
ReplyDeleteCome here as we planned before, you know that we can go to many places including beaches and sea... Good night my friend, sweet dreams.
ReplyDeleteUna muy buena noche para ti tambien amiga.
ReplyDeleteHi I have a friend who lives in a Condo. The only area she has is a 3' by 4' that is outside by her front door. She screened it in (an attractive screen. Added a small table inside it and a nice cozy chair. It has some sun and shade. She added a hose shower ( hung high to cool off on hot days while she dries off in the sun). Here you can sit -and read and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. She added some plants. And I have to say it looks very cozy to spend some time outside by her. Perhaps you have space to do something like that for the time being. Or a place near a window.
ReplyDelete"""""BE PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT YOU DESIRE TO DO"""""""
TIME is money. So goes a well-worn slogan. In reality, time is very different from money or other material things. You cannot set aside time for future use as you can money, food, fuel, or a number of other things. Any attempt to save time by not using it is futile.
Time might be compared to a large, swift river. It is ever flowing forward. You cannot stop it, nor can you use every drop that flows by.
But you can harness it some. To do the things you enjoy. At times, our physical and emotional state may require that we postpone some or even all of our work. Then, too, everyone needs an occasional break from the day-to-day routine. So we should use some of our time to do things we are passionate about. Or to just refresh ourselves in a quiet corner of our own. We can harness the time we need to care for “the more important things in our life. And to enjoy them more.
Clutter comes not only in material things--but in the mind too. And we all need time to declutter our lives.
I hope you enjoyed your Sunday. Best wishes to you. Nice blog
Sunday was great. And today it's near supper time on Sunday and thank you for the share. Most interesting writing Haddy.
ReplyDeletehello jack! i missed reading your blogs. haven't had the time to browse lately. i just get to check updates from my phone. anyways, it's good to know you're enjoying whatever your day brings. God bless you bro!
ReplyDeleteI had an instant mental picture of you in your kiddie pool, reading a book. I really think you should go for that, Jack! But , yeah....great blog. Summer is going by too fast for me, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteSheryl, whom I usually call "sky".
ReplyDeleteThank you and the same to you - I finally have a date with my MRI. Next Monday, I am going to write about it later as I just arrived home. And the same to you. Shy you are going to hate me as to remember all the names is hard when one is function during some pain. Please do email me your name, not last and I promise I will remember it - I try. :) God bless you as well. For the day is flew by and has been finished with all the I set out to do. I have not been on here for two days I think as I will explain within a write. Once again thank you and a very charming picture as it's authentic. Compliment.
Sue I do read, but I have not had as much time as I need, and I am trying to tend to some of my own health matters while at the same time I once again have a few companies that came into wanting me to work for them. This morning was of a few companies that I have been called to meet with and that Sunday was one in which was a day of rest. One that I was not going to just write something for the sake of writing. I called my folks and one friend and said that there is a pool going in the back yard..:>, they thought I was serious. I let half an hour pass and then called them back and told them it's a Kiddy Pool.....I got them in that witty way that made them laugh - why not!
ReplyDeleteSummer is going by all to fast but I take the days for what they are and ironically here in Alberta and as well in Saskatchewan, there have been nightly tornado watches and warning...we never were part of "tornado alley" but it's probably due to a change of a cycle in weather. Thank you dear friend. One whom regardless of how or when she is writing on a blog, it's always nice to see the writes. As some of us all did exchanges with cards during a season of celebration. That is more than a kiddie pool - for it's more like a real one. Friends always remain friends regardless of time. As we all in some manner and some way know each other as we have broken that gap with a periodical write or telephone call.
