Coffee Talk by Jack

I'm not too sure how many have ventured out of the city or the suburbs and take in nature in a rural setting but today I did. As I have this new camera there are many things that I wish to do which at times would include a photo journal if that is what we call it.
I ventured out to the cottage today and while en route with a one hour drive, when I turned off the main highway, I was then driving on gravel. It always reminds me of when I was a kid, and the family would all pack up from the east coast and come back to where my "roots" were from. It's interesting how things from my childhood come back to me with something so small as the feel of driving on a gravel road. What still to this day amazes me is when thirty minutes out of the city - how things change so quickly. Urban life into a vast land of the countryside. While driving during the summer you have a view of five miles ahead of you, a mirage takes place. Today that took place and if you have not seen it, it's an optical illusion that takes place. And on the main highway I could see for easily two miles.
Then the turn onto the gravel road and on each side the crops were well near harvesting, but what was so interesting was just being out there. I have not been to the cottage for a year and that's another story, but it's a place I love to go and hang out and jet ski. But I was just heading out to take some pictures. I wanted to tap into something.
While driving the idea of the past, the future and dreams come together. This is what I intended to do today. Aside waking up early and thinking it was Sunday. It was Saturday and a great one. I thought about so many areas of what can be. While pulling over going to the cottage and returning from it this concept of dreams stayed with me. Several different thoughts seemingly came into play during this venture - realistic dreams, nature, they cycle of crops.

I don't think that I came to any conclusion, yet just doing it - gave way to something obtained in some manner. And I am glad that I did.
Who can't dream? Is there an age limitation to dreams and goal. I really don't think so. For a world without dreams is a stagnate routine. And I truly believe that dreams are different to each and everyone of us, but we all do dream, and not just while sleeping.
Dreams are what life is about. But within the dreaming of what I desire - its partially the process of creating and making the dream/goal happen, while primarily doing something that you enjoy. Sometimes our subconscious brings about secondary thoughts that intertwine and foster some sort of creativity as well and reflections - that can be productive.

I know nothing about farming, but if a farmer can withstand good years and bad years and continue to farm. Perhaps a farmer lives and works based on dreams/goals as well. As each and every year it's all based on nature. If it rains at the right time - there will be a good crop and if it's completely dry, he has to plan for the long run so that he can keep his land. If he didn’t plan out for the long term - he would be bankrupt. Somewhere within this venture I found that dreams are substantial. However, when one wishes to make a dream worth going for it takes action not just the comfortable thoughts - but both are what we do each and every day.
As we have more than 60,000 thoughts that take place each and every day. I ponder on what percentage is placed within the "art" of embarking on dreams.

Peace

  1. I live and breath nature. My community is farm based. So I see the triumph and turmoil of farmers. You definitely have to molded for that profession and have a substantial amount of ambition and drive to whether the storms.

  2. Dreams are beautiful and they induce inspiration to people who dream of something they want to achieve in life. They keep one focus and make one aim for one's dreams as nothing is impossible.
    Have a good day!

  4. G'day Jack & friends,
As you know I have relocated in the Suburbs from a childhood growing up in the country & go home quite often, the rural life is so peaceful and goes at a much slower pace, gravel roads, water tanks, fresh air, for me is the stage set for dreaming & rebuilding, but also is the realisation of a very hard life of dedication & heart break , the drought is well into it's tenth year there now, but they are forever hopeful & know that in time it will turn around again. We have a saying here, that you can take the girl out of the country, but you never take the country out of the girl, for me that is true.. have a good day & keep warm lol

  5. If not for dreams, how would we ever move ahead in this world. In order for me to achieve what I want in my life, I must first have a dream that I can make into a reality.
Your day sounded lovely. Your writing is so expressive and a joy to read, Thank you for sharing.
I like your idea of having a photo journal, and yes a picture is worth at least a thousand words, I hope that you will do both, Journal words with the pictures.
Wishing you many bright days full of love, peace and joy.

  6. Jack, that is a lovely painting you painted in words, and a joyful read as well. Do you know, I was on the road yesterday, driving home towards the city in some in kind of twilight ... on the west the sun going down so bright, while everywhere else so dark with heavy cloud so low, of heavy rain waiting for a signal to pour down, yet hanging on. It was like driving in a dream, alone and yet did not feel alone.A conversation with a friend continued in my head, I had to smile; it was like hearing him said, "you know where you are going Som, take your time." Hmmm ... a dream, imagination? And I also remember, how grateful I felt for myself and fellow travelers to have that extra time to travel on dry road.

What I'm trying to say, dreams and inspiration are so connected, that sometimes coming from unexpected, unlikely source, amazing yet true. A read like this, of dreams and lovely thought goes a long way, Jack. Thank you for the sharing. And wishing you a beautiful Monday morning.
