  3. well you keep in touch by reading each other or some of my people like my photos or my archeology etc. or we share books or recipes--or when some have trouble or are especially happy we comunicate-but you don't need to talk to them all the time-- actually my friends and I treat wach other like real time people--some i have known for over 5yrs. so we don't always talk we know we are there if we needed to--

  4. I also try to limit my account Jack. It's just too hard to give proper attention to more than about a dozen people at any one week---2/3rds of the people I've "friended" are inactive foretunetly anyway.

  5. Yeah it's something that it does make it easier. I see that for myself I have not wrote as much as time is a factor Gigi...

  6. One thing I always do is... if I take the time to read the blog, look at the picture, read the note etc... then I leave a comment. That is a HUGE pet peeve of mine when I notice some have read my stuff but no comment! Happens all the time.

  7. Quality over quantity as far as friends goes.. No one can keep up with everyone. I skip around and read things when I can, If I have something worthy to add I will, otherwise I just move on. I feel my time on here is for pleasure,so I don't pressure myself to do anything. Life is already stressful enough! :) have a great night.

  8. I have a small collection of friends .... I never allowed myself to go over the 30 mark .... some of my contacts literally come alive once or twice a year .... but the rest .. we just kind of flow with an easy ease reall .... My aim was to make friends .... and for me that means quality over quantity .....

  9. It's a problem, my contacts have crept up to 60 again and I guess some I have contact with some a couple of times per week, some a couple of times per month and some less frequently. Sometimes during term time when I'm working I struggle to visit any one, but during school holidays (like now) I have lots more time to visit. There are people here who I consider 'real' friends every bit as much as those friends I have in my offline life and those people are always there if I need them and I'm here for them. basically I don't think there are any rules any more than there are rules for any other kind of relationship. One thing I try to remember though is that people are all different and just because I comment or visit a person I don't think they 'owe' me a comment or a vist, same thing goes the othert way round, people have different claims on their time etc . Bottom line is I just enjoy being here and visiting people.

  10. Many poeple on my list are not very active, many have come here from Yahoo and probably have found another platform where they prefer to go, or simply do not blog anymore I suppose. I visit their blogs and leave a comment if they do post, and sometimes will simply visit or write a pm to say hi. It all goes with the time I have, as others I will give it more time when on a day off. I think friends understand that I cannot go to all every week. They know I am there in thoughts. Life changes and so do our priorities, so we adjust. A wonderful day to you Jack.

  11. I'm constantly tending my friends garden. I wander through it at least once a week, looking at the faces, asking myself when I last talked with them, when they last stopped on my page, if their interests are the same as mine, then I weed vigorously. I work to keep it below 50, below 30 or 40 is even better.

  14. Well ironically after a shift here, I have to do a format of this computer today or tomorrow but what does that have to do with this Jack. This is enjoyment. Well it is what it is and it's all within good enjoyment Pixie. If you asked me ten years ago if I would be on a blog I would say definitely not. Weather wise it's still rather cool here. I mean that it's getting warmer yet it could be much warmer than now getting back to you remark. I lost site of my blog. I will get into this area where I really have no clue on what to write about but I think I have found a resolve to that.

  16. Most on my list arent active. Most migrated here from Yahoo360 or have moved to other blogging places. I have contact with a few on Wordpress and a few through Eblog. I read what they write and comment or chat with some on occasion. Mostly, we are all quietly going about our offline lives and read, share, enjoy each other whenever we blog.

  17. I just consider myself blessed :) I don't have that many and not everyone even visits..2 of them sadly passed away that is the worst thing that could happen..That was hard! A couple I am concerned about because I'm not sure what happened. It's always the same smaller number that I really connect with in friendship and interest in each others blogs..Have a great week
    I appreciate your friendship here
