Did you know that the first subway system was in Boston, MA ? It is located at the Park Street ( The Green Line ) Subway in downtown Boston . Although , when they first built it , it wasn't that long . But it was the first in America .
I honestly never knew that. That is really interesting, I am thinking of all that they have in Europe and the massive one that links from under the Ocean but outside of here in Edmonton the only other two subways I have been on are in Toronto, as well as New York City and within New Yorks. It's amazing the way it all is, and when I lived there I was talking to one person that worked there with the transit authority with the subway's and each one of them is built in Missisaga, Ontario. Then I looked and it was on the Subways at the end of every cart. I wish I had some of my photos from back then but I don't. The Green line I will look that up interesting.
Cool! Montreal also has an extensive subway network (metro). Did you know that Bombardier Transport Division build wagons for N-Y, Montreal, Toronto, China and Europe? Pretty nice wagons actually.
Danielle, I did not know that. But it was most interesting to see this subway. Bombardier is one of the creme de la cream companies with the air division, I didn't know this regarding other means of transportation.
They also have a recreational products division (BRP) for Sea-Doos, boats and Ski-Doos. It all started with Ski-Doo in fact. They have bought Canadair in 1986, so for Bombardier, the aerospace aspect is rather new.
