Good Morning America How Are Ya

Two years ago I picked up on someone through the array of what in many countries was happening. We were all realizing that we have been apart of something in which we were talking during times of war, during times of economic situations that were varying.

I am not blogging for the sake of casting my vote on one person or influencing the thought process on today's date. However there is a man and a women that are running for the President of the United States of America. It's the first time in our lifetime that many things have happened - but it's the first time that as an international community we all sit and wait.

I lived in New York in my upbringing and then thereafter in my adult life. Hillary has dones some great things as a Senator of New York. And everyone sort or knew that she would run for the seat back while Bill was still in power. She seems to be doing good - actually very good. Her main thrust right now within her campaign is that she has the "resume".

Then there is Senator Obama. When I first heard him back two years ago if not three I did a writing on him. He is someone that just by way of being one of those rare people knows how to speak. It's indicated that he is too young - however, John F. Kennedy became President at a age that was four years younger - if I am correct. Many are saying Obama has the poise but not the experience.

Making this rather short and speaking from a side that has been and lived in both countries and actually loves the two he has lived in and understands the relationship and differences between these two countries. Yet we are very very connected. -------------> I feel the entire international community is watching this in a very eager manner. What goes on within America is American, but within the big picture I do believe that not only are americans wishing for hope, I do believe that many great countries are. And I think that most all of us are dependant on America. It's a super power that over 6 years went through so many changes due to deceit of an Administration that was more like a dictatorship. And to me that is not the America I know.

There are a few things in which people are looking for. Most of all I think that we all want to see United States come back up and that is our hope. Within today I believe 24 states will be voting. There was a special here in which it showed that 25% of Canadians would give up their own ability to vote in there own country just to have the chance to vote in such a dynamic time in history. I think that is fair to say for the international community. And the one thing I don't wish to see is a return in any way - shape - or form the manner in which United States has been run over the last few years. I really wish to see something good start to happen. And possibly one of these two people will be it. Obama stands for hope and as well, if you think that he does not have experience, take a look at what he has done. He has not been in the oval office, but that works for him as he is going into it clean. Secondly he has set down some policies that if he even is able to meet his promise of 50% of them, you know he will have a tremendous team behind him. Obama is probably one of those people that come every once in a while as a charismatic, poised, very well like international chap. Where as Hillary comes from the base of experience by way of Bill Clinton,as first lady and then by way of becoming a very good senator representing the state of NY.

Everyone will have their own thoughts and everyone is thinking over what will take place, but not only in America but around the world I think to varying extents many are really excited about this change.

We shall see what happens. But for those that base there thoughts based on gender and/or color - your living in the 1950's still if that is the case and one huge administrative mistake George Bush & Dick Cheney, is a measurement of what each person would want. The closer it seems like an administrative style that is slightly similar - would tend to tell me whom I wish to vote for.  I am not a republican nor am I a Democrat, as I was born Canadian, however I was raised there, and I lived there in am adult life.

It's not politics - it's about our lives, our freedom, where the strength and power tends to stay. And if there was a time in my life that I would like to cast my own vote, this one would be it. And this will be the first time that people vote more than anyother time in the sincer WWII, my prediction here as  our youth that are in colleges and universities want to have a voice and they are not lost on this one, they might just have more knowledge than most of us with regards to several areas.

Shall be an interesting date in our history. For those that reside in United States of America as well as those living in various countries.  The one thing that you have to ask your self is - whom is respected both internally and internationally.  That might have the answer within who will become the next president.

Last but not least - John Edwards was and is a very smart man, and John McCain has done something great during this election as well. But I think that even if the two above stated where Republicans - they would not stand a chance as everyone wishes to be as far removed with the past administration. For only one reason - hope.   Hope on several fronts.  And I in no way shape nor form am writing on the moral highground for either party, I wished to write from my perspective on the ongoing campaign for the leadership. No party has the absolute moral high ground. What is necessary in any country is to be well grounded...

  1. This is definately the most interesting race I have ever seen. This far into it and I still haven't managed to settle on which candidate I hope to see in the White House. I agree with you that most other countries are likely very interested in this one. The US impacts other countries in many ways. I think whichever candidate does end up in the Oval Office will need to be a strong one...but capable of working with the leaders of other countries and with other politicians here, rather than try to gungho (or bully) all concerned. A lot of mistrust and damage has been created by our present administration. Whoever takes the wheel next will not only be dealing with some very serious issues but also needing to do some damage control and lots of repairs.

  2. G'day Jack,
being a total observer, it is interesting to see the way your system works, believing that if every one actually did their home work, in reference to intention, honesty, ability as well as past achievements in respect of each contender, while putting their personal predigests aside for just one day thus allowing the overall good of the county’s needs to come first, you might find that you finish with a leader that will lead you all in the direction that deep down all desire, peace, understanding and unity along with prosperity for the country as a natural progression…may the best contender emerge victorious

  3. Very well put, Jack. Even at this stage, I'm still undecided. Just out of curiosity, if you could vote in this election, who would you vote for?

  4. If I had the ability to vote, I personally would vote for Obama. However, it does not just take one to make a good administration work - it takes the people that bring to the table with their administrative staff as well as the understanding of international affairs as well as internal necessities. However, that is just my own feeling on it and I love politics wrote in a diplomatic manner.

Regardless of whom does get in there will be a change and I think that it's something in which effects not just the United States of America - it effects many other G8 countries.

Politics and that question Joanne are a tricky thing as some people are very adamant on whom they want in and I don't wish this to become a debate. As I have watched it from the side lines and as well with friends that do reside in America and you kind of see things from both sides of the coin. Anything different is good, but this is probably one of the most important elections within our lifetime, some would say no, I think it really is. However I am not an activist with politics. I think that Obama represents something new. As well as I think that the international consensus is that he is a very confident change. And international affairs are probably one of the top 5 things that are on his agenda. But the manner in which he approaches things resonates the American Dream again which equals Hope and Confidence. Confidence sparks the economy and then some.

  5. And I hope my own privy to say that does not blemish my blog.
I was born in Canada and then two weeks after birth was in United States and lets say there is someone within my family that played a large role within the United States on diplomatic status.
Hence, I believe in the United States in a very great manner. No fiction there. But I do realize there is a need for globalized thinking and understanding that seemed to leave when the current administration took over. But each country has it's problems - but United States can gain back (not over night), and that gives way to a inter connected alliance with many countries - as currently that does not exist right now. But it will again.

  6. I dont think most know me as far as my back ground but that aside, Norma I think everyone can relate to what you have just said, most in the international community are scared to write with regards to this area, but there is a manner that even with this we can gain. And that is not about whom is right or wrong or what the chances may be I think it's more about the desire of a returning back to some sort of peace as we have been living during a time of war. Many were effected by the current administration, it was not about people not trusting or disliking Americans as mentioned within all this it was more with regards to several countries standing back, and now maybe we can have a leader that not only leads to a betterment for Canada, Australia, England, and all that have been an integral part in alliances.

This is the opportunity for many things to happen in a manner that does create change with decisiveness, openmindedness, and understanding of what "we the people" desire. And so much more.
There is no other country in the world that is prouder than America, and I think now is a time in which people want to be able to trust where the future goes.
It's not really about the parties - it's more about whom will be able to bring about an administration that is effective within it's interior as well as with regard to other countries that have allied with America.
Incredible write if I may say!

  7. agreed Jack...^_^
We have the updated news about it daily too..the Super Tuesday, the pooling, the speeches, the analysis..etc..etc.. here in our country..although we're very distant from the USA..
As for me, I find it far more interesting (Obama vs Hillary) than whoever wins the Democrat election vs the Republican...

  8. I find it tremendously interesting and it's not about an election I feel that it's sort of a postive movement with regards to a new era. I am going to leave this on and I think that there are some from various different places within the world that may give thier own insight on this as I don't think that this is about one against the other - but I think it's about a regard to the future for ourselves and for our children.

  9. This is a very interesting piece, Jack. You have presented both sides of the candidates in an interesting light, one I'm not sure if all voters have considered. Being from the South, I'll be the first to tell you that pride and prejudice are still alive and kickin' although it is tolerated more in this day than it was 50 years ago. That will play against Obama I'm sad to say. Some folks cry for change and when it's offered, they still look at color before they look at the person or his qualifications. Race will always be an issue to those who choose to remain locked in their own senseless and meaningless form of hate. *sigh* It's sad that folks will not become informed adults and make their own informed decisions rather than cling to the destructive behavior they were taught by their forefathers. Maybe Obama has not been groomed for the White House, but undoubtedly that can play in his favor. Sometimes if one's mind is not tainted with the way things have always been done and is used to bring a fresh approach to problems, perhaps a new hope will be founded. Hillary on the other hand has a much larger hurdle to overcome. The fact that she is a woman and women are viewed as emotional could hurt her chances. Men are more programmed in their thinking to solve problems while leaving their emotions at bay. Women generally aren't- we think at times with our heart and although that is a good thing, asa potential leader of a country it could be her downfall. But then again, there's another issue: there's prejudice again in another form. This time it's not race, it's gender. Some men feel threatened and intimidated at the thought of having a woman as president. Maybe it's a strength thing ... maybe it's a role reversal thing ... who knows.

But you brought up an interesting point, Jack: How will other countries receive our new choice for President. Voters need to underdstand that while most will be receptive and feel comfortable dealing with a man, a woman in authority might be looked down upon and take away from the overall image and strength of the United States. There we go again with a prejudice issue ...

I sometimes think that people get too caught up in the details of things ... race, gender, ego ... America needs to remember that we are a nation, under God, and that our overall goal is to be grounded as a nation of peace and hope ... laws and declarations were written years ago and didn't specify that only certain people could bring that dream to life ... it said 'We the people" ... Abraham Lincoln was right when he quoted the Bible saying that a house divided against itself cannot stand ... we need to unite as a people, not seeing what we are limited to see with our eyes ... instead, we should focus on how to accomplish the one goal we commonly share: to see our nation be respected and strong to ourselves and the rest of the world ... our forefathers died for this nation in many wars fought here and abroad ... to say that we have become limited in our own visions is to say their hope and allegiance was in vain.
May God bless us all ... this was a good blog, Jack. I hope you're feeling better and you have a wonderful day. ~Cindy

  10. Jack, your post is very informative and very interesting and certainly, the inputs from your friends here have added to it. I have to say politics is not my best topic. I can only speak in general although from what I have been able to read here, my vote would probably go for Obama. As much as I would like women to take on important roles, I am not sure that as the world is today, it is ready to consider a woman President seriously. There are still countries where the opinion of a woman is not taken as seriously (that said from the experience of friends travelling for work in various countries of the world). Maybe in a few years down the road, for now, not sure. On the other hand, I can understand that the military experience of McCain can be viewed by some as an asset. For some reasons however, I think a country needs someone with charisma, and an ability to communicate well, and Obama from what you are saying would make a solid president. I am not saying that he needs only that of course. In fact, I believe that a government, any government must be made of the best people in their own category or area, i.e. a president needs to have a team of the cream of the cream to help him make his decisions. I do not think a man alone can run a country. What a country needs is one who is capable of enough humility to listen to what the experts have to say, enough judgement to know when and how to act upon situations, and enough charisma and diplomacy to bring the world on his side. I agree that Bush`s time has not been the best for U.S.. At this time, I sense that the people need a President who will stabilise the economy, reassure the population about globalization, bring hope to the young generations for a future with good jobs, help them with their health-care, work for peace. All my humble observations, because I am far from being knowledgeable about politics. You have made me consider, gather my own thoughts, which I would probably not have done without this blog of yours. Thanks for that Jack.

  11. A ten hour day and just reading with some warm tea and then off to bed - thank you as this is something that I believe in. I truly do believe that this is not as much apart of politics as it's about what come within our future in society from all over the world if I may say.
The Statue of Liberty stood not only for the peace within America, but she was a immigrant that looks beyond the horizon in a manner of confidence and understanding. That to me is something is wished to add as I just arrived in and I know there are people from various countries and vantages.

Peace - Unity - Consideration - Diplomacy - Enrichment from Vantages....(sorry I just got in and it's cold as __________, but I do hope or request those whom deem it worthy to write in a manner they are comfortable with. Jack

Reading the above just as you can - why not...

  12. A stability within the United States creates stability in various countries. And that does not leave out many countries. In no way do I see this as politics, I see it really as a global movement that has a manner that can effect each of our economies for the betterment or for the status qua. Thanks Danielle, as one that come from Quebec and a few others that have wrote in their own manner outside of the United States - perhaps this give Americans a vantage as well as how they are regarded and then comes an understanding. Some would not wish it to be this way however international affairs I think we all have had a class about it over the last few years. We learn and then we go forward. As of today I think in my own opinion that we may very well have the first Black American and first women that work in concert in the White house.
Thank you for your post and it's kinda a collaborative - that I really send out a message to each person on my blog as I promise that it will always be here for everyone to reference or to come back too and look at.

  13. Cindy it is interesting as "we the people" are about internal unity, however I think that many Americans feel that they are the blame of a current government that went very wrong. As a few have mentioned.
Seeing how others feel from other countries gives a perception of what they think from where they live. As a few have done.
"In God we Trust" is something that is very endearing to the foundation of America. But George B, manipulated people with the ethics of being Christian. But that does not stand for the majority of Christians now. Cindy I am back working so I dont have much time on here but I do love it when there is something outside of the ordinary that is done in a manner that is discreet and with respect.
Thank you, and I am feeling fine just taking my antibiotics at night so that I dont have the side effects during the day. Thank you and thank you for the write.
Prejudism - that is a topic onto itself, but there is Borak and Hillary that break down that wall. And I think regardless of whom wins - it's a win in itself as it shows where we have come to as a society.
