Everyone Wants To be At Home

We all do take responsibility for charting our own course in life, we may well go in an entirely different direction from the one laid out for us by society and familial expectations. Mine was one that was an open ended direction – without an exact location, but some cadence and networks. This can be uncomfortable in the short term, but in the long term it is much worse to imagine living this precious life without ever taking the wheel and navigating our own course.  In all this said I am in the midst of a move and I have been traveling of around six weeks now. Sure we all take responsibility with what we do and we do have obligations. In coming to this city I was determined to settle down in a new city. I found that the last four days have not been that easy.

Finessing so much can be a long day to say the least but finally I will have accomplished my new goals effectively this weekend.  As I have a new place in a new city. I will have to go and rent our or sell my other place – but that won’t be till the New Year.  I am not sure how many people have lived in hotels but I can honestly say that regardless – it’s going to be nice to get settled in. Two meetings to day and then some work, then two trips for furniture as well as then ending up at the dentists office with an infection in my upper gum.  I am on an antibiotic and I can wait to just get into my own home.  At least I have not major situation with my teeth, but what I found amazing was that I met a few new friends – as the dentist is from Peru, and most of his staff are from the middle part of latin America.

After I left yesterday, I was told to go back as I am on two medications for the infection and I can’t wait as there is an entire Spanish community here. Most are from Colombia, Argentina, Chile, and the middle portion of Latin America.  I certainly look forward to this.  But meanwhile, with the things taken place this week it’s been rather hard and much multi tasking. I look forward to just getting in my place and putting my feet up.  The reason – you can be yourself within your own home.

If there is one thing that I can say - I planned last summer to go to Latin America and then I was side tracked. So all in all, aside of the infection, one more day and then I can be within my home.

Existence On This Earth

Perhaps co existence would be a better title...

The earth is not all the old really when you come to think of it and how you relate to it.  It’s amazing to me I remember since I as five years old how I would be at my window in the evening gazing at the stars and wondering what all is out there.  It created a curiosity that has carried on ever since.  Many ancient inhabitants based things on the stars and the skies.  The aboriginals, the Chinese, and some other cultures based their life on the ways of the lands, the skies and as well the stars.  For myself it’s incredibly interesting in the way it all started. Some would say it was an inspiration of a force. An energy that would bring together all ideas and religions of what we base our lives on.  Maybe just maybe, we are missing out on something due to the reason that we think in according to one type of thought. Or perhaps we are not.

How long it took mankind to accept that the earth was round. That was a conquest for some to have to look at things from another angle. And more importantly how many conquests and lives it took to prove this theory.

Look at our other inhabitants of our world – the animals. Animals will act differently during a full moon, as there are gravitational pulls that for some reason they notice instinctually.

When a storm comes our other co inhabitants realize some things that we need technology to understand.  Is there something we miss? Perhaps are we as a society so self involved that we are missing something?

I don’t think mother earth is missing the forest for the trees.  She’s missing the forest and the trees. Meanwhile we are thrive on more wants than needs. It mimics history in so many ways, however the world does cycle - in our own way, and maybe we will come to learn that life is not just regarding what was mention in my previous post, but now and then we think outside of the box.  However a box can't fit into a circle, yet a circle can fit into a box...

THE FAIRMONT HOTEL MACDONALD

Vantages on the first day of Snow. In a city that is Canada most multicultured city from this year as declared by the Prime Minister.

The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald has long been known as Edmonton's most elegant hotel and is lovingly referred to as 'The Mac.' After four years of construction, the hotel, named after Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald, opened its doors on July 05, 1915 and was destined to become the centre of Edmonton's social life.

Situated high on the bank overlooking the North Saskatchewan River valley, the seven-storey Grand Trunk Pacific Hotel (faced with Indiana limestone and roofed with copper) was built and furnished at a cost of about $2,250,000 (over $35 million today). The characteristic Chateau style, an adaptation of French 16th Century castles, was first brought to Canada in 1892.

In 1953, a 16-storey, 300-bedroom addition was built to meet the pressing need for more rooms and convention facilities. The very marked change in architecture from the original Chateau-style of 1915 caused Edmontonians to refer to the addition as 'The Mac and the box it came in.' The addition was demolished in 1986.

After more than half a century of glamour, The Hotel Macdonald closed its doors in 1983 after the Universiade Games, as it had fallen into a state of disrepair. On January 08, 1985, the City of Edmonton designated the hotel as a Municipal Heritage Resource (and thereby saving it from the wrecking ball!) and was the first building in Edmonton to receive this special designation. Five heritage areas are included in the designation: The building exterior, the Confederation Lounge, the Lobby, the Wedgwood Room, and the Empire Ballroom.

Over the next several years, the owners debated how (and if) the hotel should be developed. Canadian Pacific Hotels came to the rescue in 1988 when it bought the chain of CN hotel properties. A total commitment was made to restore The Hotel Macdonald to its former elegance and to re-establish its importance in the community. In 1999, Canadian Pacific Hotels merged with Fairmont Hotels to create the largest luxury hotel management company in North America - Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

Restored, The Hotel Macdonald, exuding a feeling of Victorian elegance, re-opened its doors to the public on May 15, 1991. It's one of 10 "castle hotels" that were built throughout Canada. The first of these hotels started in Quebec and then went on throught the rest of the country. As there is nearly one in each province with the exception of Newfoundland.

Separation and Division

Separation and division is the central key as to why there are so many problems in the World. The Ego is looking out for some reason why they alone are somehow above the crow so that their own personal experiences are better than the average common rabble.

Individuals want to feel special, as if their own life experience is something in which no one else can understand or relate. In fact, most people are almost in shock when they bond with someone else who seems to "understands" them as no one else can.

Some take pride in the fact that they view themselves as misunderstood as it is somehow glamorous to be so tragic while others go into another extreme and brag of being so popular as if there is no other place to be. Like-minded individuals can get together for a common purpose and when ego takes over the group feels as if it is misunderstood by everyone else and they are somehow above the people outside of the group. Categorizing can form to be cliques, clubs, churches, gangs, and armies.

No matter what you label it, the group will somehow feed into the common ego that their life experience, happiness, heartaches, pains, and joys are somehow different than anyone outside of the group. Anyone outside of the group is somehow wrong or bad or someone to be avoided.  Such thinking is the core as to why people fail to connect to other. One group believes it is supreme and the others have no rights as they do, in fact they believe everyone outside of the group as somehow inferior and not deserving of the same merits of humanity.

This can quickly turn to prejudice, hatred, intolerance and lead to acts of war, violence, aggression and cruelty. This kind of thinking keeps hungry people starving, abused people in fear, and poor people in poverty. It enslaves your mind, even if you are in the group, which deprives others of equality.

Just look. We do have our own unique quirks and ways to do things among our peers, but chances are somewhere in the world you will find a few dozen people with all those exact qualities. It is inside, where it really counts, that we are all equal.

The color of our skin, weight, height, shape and other outside features do not make you who you really are, it is your reaction to how people treat you because of your features that make you who you are. Twins with identical features could be subjected to the same

rude comments from people who want to find a way to discount their importance by calling them on a physical feature. One twin could get offended by such remarks and adopt and attitude of hatred for those who don’t look like her. The other twin could forgive those and live life in peace, waiting for those who will accept her as she

.

Your religion or spiritual beliefs do not make you who you are - it’s how you practice what you preach. Some like to beat a certain faith as hypocritical because they know members of that church who are sinners according to the beliefs they claim. In fact,

there are hypocrites in every faith who hide behind them for various reasons. They have nothing to do with those who truly believe in that faith. To discount all faith on behalf of the handfuls of liars in a slap in the face of those who are doing what they believe.

There is no one correct way to review life. Just as 10 witnesses to a car accident can come up with 10 different accounts of the scene that would be correct in their own point of view, the over 6 billion people the world make their own correct judgment of life most likely as a great abundance and the other might see life as harsh and both would be correct.

We are all creatures who want the same exact things in life. That is the humanity within us that make us equal. When the Ego takes over, we neglect the fact that others have that same essence of life and quests we do.

We all want love. When we become balanced within ourselves and learn to love ourselves, we want love, not false dependency. We want respect. We want to achieve our goals. We want to walk through the same path. We want to be remembered according to title, but most people live and pass on with title, those that have testimonial have a continuum in which thrives on. We want to feel special. We want our basic needs to be met with the least amount of resistance. We want peace. We want a quality in our lives. We want health and mental well-being.

No one really wants to live in FEAR and conflict. No one wants to feel physical or emotional pain. No one wants to get hurt, harm, hated, neglected, abused, starved, enslaved or disrespected. There are some twisted minds too caught up in the ego that have warped the essence of humanity that they would debase themselves and others.

That is not the true nature of mankind. That is a sick mind in control of

a runway vehicle.

Ironically, it is also human nature that brings out the best of humanity in a time of crisis. Our own need for self preservation can come out when we see our safety and security threatened, we tend to band together to help each other. Many people like to describe an end time scene where man will turn against man and kill each other in a quest to survive. History will point out otherwise. During times of earthquakes, acts of war, terrorism or any other disaster, People generally will help others in need when and how they can. Of course there will always be the losers and people who are able to render

their own true essence of humanity, but for the most part you will find honest, caring, decent people who will help another person in

need if they can do it.

If we ever want to live in a world of peace, we are simply going to have to get over just looking for a title and rather have a manner of understanding. Which would require the ability to have confidence and yet enjoy life without the need to posture, or make things up - as life is what we feel and what we have a conviction for without closing the doors to others.    We all have an ego, but with that said, I find that there is a need to not only be true to ourselves but true to our own valid nature of being. We must also learn to respect and allow others to be instead of controlling how we think they must be. We are all looking at the same world from different angles with the same inner needs, hopes and desires. Some do and some don't.

We all will make mistakes as we learn hot to play the rules in this game of life. Just because we do not see eye to eye does not mean we won’t come to our own right way to live, to think and to be able to have the ability to think outside of just our own notions of what makes our world happen.

Awakening The Inner Warrior

There are certain personality archetypes that we all carry within us, such as the inner child, the lover, and the mother. Some of these archetypes present themselves strongly, while others lay fallow. For example, there is an inner warrior in each one of us, but in some of us this warrior is underdeveloped to the point that we are unable to stand up for ourselves, even when necessary. There can be many reasons for this. We may have grown up with a parent whose warrior aspect was overdeveloped, and we responded by repressing ours completely.

On the other hand, we may have grown up with parents in whom this aspect was dormant,so we never learned to awaken it in ourselves.

A warrior is someone with the strength to stand up for what he or she believes; someone who perseveres in the face of challenges and obstacles; someone who speaks and acts in the service of an ideal; someone who protects those who are too weak to fight for themselves. Regardless of the reasons for an underdeveloped inner warrior, you may begin to notice the lack of its fiery, protective presence and wish to awaken it. You may need to stand up for yourself in a certain relationship or situation, or you may have a vision you want to realize, and youknow you will need the courage, energy, and strength of a warrior to succeed. Succeeding is not in failure but in faith and determination. Regardless of what it is - how small or how large everyone is determined to find that they have accomplished something that they alone find worthwhile.

The Next Step

There are a few picture in here. Two are from Drumheller. The city it's self and then the others are picture of the international airport here and then this room I got that I needed so much after a long trip. I have never had a hotel room with a jaccuzzi in it. I am not breaching or posturing, but that foot felt good!
