A Lengthy Challenge is Done

Those of you or those of my contacts and friends do know that I have been away from the city I call home.  It’s been seven months doing something which was the hardest challenge of my entire life.

While I was away yesterday, I had a meeting and I have a few things which I do await for as they are within the coming within the next few days. From the middle of winter to know I have done my up-most in all realms. I would not say it has been easy but from every challenge there is always something which one has one or two choices. To take it on and due diligence, to understand what to be humbled is – as it brings about either a negative outlook or a more refined person. As well, there are times in which one is alone but they are not alone if they choose not to be.

I have loved the people I have met, mind you they have been few but they are of a good kind. And as well, when you do need a bed there is a certain type of people which provide that and you abide and come to know how much you respect them.

I thought the time was appropriate with my close contacts which I have shared with and am sharing now.

As even on here there have been a few that did understand and were most considerate. I will be here for another week if not two. I await some more additional information yet within this interlude. There were times I went through an entire array of feelings – yet it’s something which is a life experience when you have gone through a challenge as I have. One thing I can assure you is when there is a need to face up to your own situations what ever they may be. The outcome is a more thoughtful person – with the optimism of what comes ahead. I am glad that I had shared this with those which are fine friends.  Tomorrows is a new day and to those which have been a contact with me know that on January of this year I came out with something which was truly private. I know those whom have been there. I shall be on here as I have and I certainly shall meet with some very special people who have helped me along – yet within this experience I can assure you that when and if you feel that life has or is passing you by. It hasn’t as long as you keep your head on straight, and keep sound.  Seven months ago I never knew where things were going and its funny how life has a way of progress if you don’t focus on it and enable yourself to heal.

On or before the end of the month, I shall be moving back to the city I love and immersing back with several friends. But most of all I look forward to my life in good health. I have no Regrets but a more of myself which I can’t begin to explain. Before I log off tonight I wished to share this as count your blessings as they do come true, not just with faith but I shall say with a strength which surpasses anything I have taken on before.

Hence let it Shine

And to those on here that Understood

I can't begin to say How Much

I Thank You

As I Sincerely Do

Jack

video-2012-07-03-11-06-51.mp4

Let’s just go back in time for a moment. I bought an Iphone back a few months ago and you would think that I would know how to transfer the images or video.

On the day which I was out biking prior to coming online. I did not place much that I would finally figure this out but it was just when I was returning form a three hours of biking. There have been storms here and very different than the norm.

Yet just this afternoon as I am doing my wash I figured this out yet the clarity is there but not like within a recording studio. But merely me. Smart phones, Iphones - I dunno. But the mention was in good intentions the two days ago as I had come to see all that has taken place with the disastrous weather. I guess this would be back to the future or something like that as this is from two days ago...

I have some good news actually very good news which I hope to share with friends within my contact list later.

America 4th of July - in my own Words

What United States means to me?  If I were asked this question a decade ago, it would be different to now.  For that matter, if I was asked what I felt about America it would be based on the areas of which I know. Yet within this year to ask of what is America is something that it’s not as easy as earlier years.  I don’t know what happened within the fabric of America, as it was always something to be carefree about and there was no real concerns as to identity.

As in any society there are differences but the differences are within the people. America was founded by way of the English and then as well how the English dealt within its own interior many things. To compare the United States now in comparison to that of when I lived there is very different. I don’t mean that within a negative manner.  I recall a tremendous book that was written called, “A Man without a country”. I read the book while I was attending grade school in Bear Road. It was about a man that was the most patriotic but very mistaken and left to live out at sea during the beginnings of the colonies of the USA.

My experience as a kid within America was a very down to earth people. Yet this was when I was a kid and at the time that I was merely seventeen, I went back and saw my friends. Later on, I would do it within my adult life. Yet the America that I personally know of is that from the east coast. There was nothing of the likes of the annual picnics of which were so often celebrated.

Thereafter, I did go back to the United States and I truly loved and felt at home when I lived in New York City. I felt as if I was back within my homeland. Sure, there were things, which happened within the big apple, but it was nothing of the likes of what is now. In no manner have nor shall I degrade America as the merits within history were that of what everyone sought to reside in. For that matter, those of which I knew where very community minded.  From the ordinary to some of the senior people within business there seemed to be a relation that was based on good will.

The people that I met and those of which were American or American immigrants were firm within their belief of what constituted America. Unless you have lived on both sides, I don’t think one really can see if there is any difference.  Back then, we didn’t think about countries. We thought more about areas such the New York State Fair, the Empire State Building, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, which was right across from Rockefeller center. Then on a day such as this, it was heading out to Central Park or Jones Beach. Back then, there was such an array of people, but no one was thinking about wars, or what United States stood for. As a kid, I remember without any question standing up within class for what was the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. For myself America was home, still to a very good extent I see it as such.

America is a country that always was one that was productive and community minded in the manner that I see it. Certainly, there were points in history that America has. I find now that America is under a time of which in some manner they shall bring it together. Pride is within the fabric of the land of America and although there may be some things, which are so, very questioned, or for that matter too questioned. I have always recalled my last Fourth of July. Taking a boat ride to Ellis Island and seeing that statue of Liberty.  It rendered something that I just can’t place a finger on but if there are a few words that do come to mind it would be – community, people from all ethnic blends, historical museums that were funded by notable people.  This term for that matter theme of "the land of the home and free". It’s always been something of which stayed with me as well as that of times which there were no concerns of differences.  I feel that I have been fortunate, as I have had a great experience within America as well as within the country of which I reside. Ten years ago there was not much difference and then came the downfall of the economy as well as the administration of a President named George Bush.  Nevertheless, this is not of matter what is that America still is America.

Yet I still feel privy in knowing America and having had America as a country of which I belonged too. The things of which take place never stay the same. In addition, with all of that said, America as I see it is one that stands proud. For myself, America was more than just the nation at large. It was one of which there was never so much concern. I state words with caution yet that of both lands, to see that statue of Liberty while hearing and singing with thousands the national Anthem. I truly wish I had all the pictures as well as some videos from that time but America has and always shall be a part of my life. I do have a letter from former President Clinton while I lived there as well – I met extraordinary yet ordinary people. The merit was all within the manner of what America is, not so much as to what it isnt.  However, this is all based on where I have lived. Even during the times of which are faced within the fabric that seem to be so intense – there still is a foundation of what represents the red, white and blue. It’s that of which I truly have loved and I still maintain that America at large shall render back that of what was so lost over a decade. It just might be happening now. What shaped America was a multitude of people from all countries.

The very ideals of America honor the service of that of which it stands for. Do a service of rendering the best of a country. And those times of which I had I certainly feel that I have had a great advantage and I believe that within time I shall return and here again that anthem as well as see – Lady Liberty, as see looks across the Hudson with a certain calm.

There are many things of which come to mind within what America is and within that tread of what America is. I still believe that as within the history of any country in the thoughts of many notables America has and shall not be that of less it's a country of which everyone has seen to be one based on a history of pride and freedom.

This is a recap of a write which I had done one year ago and as I shall be away tomorrow America has always been very close to myself. I can't begin to explain how much is within the fabric of America of which I know.

I shall be away for a day but to those of my friends within the United States of America one thing I wish to make mention is that there is a statue which I recall from my days within New York City and what she has always stood for was that of freedom, that of pride. She looks across the horizon from the Hudson and regardless of the times she has that certain calm and looks ahead as she has for since she came to America. Let the Stars and Stripes decorated in RED and BLUE --------------- SHINE.

Recent Aerial Photography from 2 Friends

A friend of mine in Saskatoon which I had met while I was doing some photography last summer had sent me today some recent shots. I have met more people while I was taking pictures and it still amazes me the reciprocating factor. As most know I am out of town and there is a story behind those whom you meet.

I still to this day am amazed with how many I had run into and then here today I recieved pictures which were a gift if you will from a couple that came to Saskatoon from the east.
I was taken by the gift. As I never had this pleasure. They work as a photographers yet every summer they have several balloons which they rent out to a variety of companies.

These are semi recent pictures of Saskatoon which I recieved in my email just two minutes ago. There is something to be said for those of which I have met.
I am finding this moreso in these past few days.

I promise you these are not a hoax, I wish they were on Multiple but they arent, yet this was truly nice.

From the email:

Yes, I remember :)

You are welcome and happy Canada day for you too.

Diasertous Climates in More Than Few

To say many Americans are within one of the largest disastrous summer weather ordeals would be carelessly redundant.  From Eastern to Midwestern states for three days there has been a round of disasters from power outages, fires, loss of life, and loss of homes with the average temperatures averaging from 90 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. To add to that there were a round of storms which lead to the loss of power along the east.

Two million residents, from North Carolina to New Jersey and as far west as Illinois were without power Monday morning. Utility officials said the power would likely be out for several more days. Since Friday, severe weather has been blamed for at least 18 deaths, most from trees falling on homes and cars. Some drivers resorted to ingenuity to get to work. On a residential street in suburban Falls Church, Va., just outside Washington, downed trees blocked the road on either side. Enterprising neighbors used chain saws to cut a makeshift path on one side, but the other remained completely blocked by a massive oak tree."They kind of forgot about us out here," resident Eric Nesson said previous to a series of eight class “A” severe storms knocked out power all along the U.S. East Coast over the weekend, forcing many people to seek reprieve from oppressive heat in public spaces like this fountain at Washington Square Park in New York on July 1st. Storm damaged trees litter the east lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington on June 30, 2012. Storms over the weekend knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of homes in the D.C. area. More than a dozen people were killed as a round of summer storms hit East Coast states. Power outages left many people from North Carolina to New Jersey and as far west as Illinois struggling to cope with high temperatures and spoiling food following powerful weekend storms. Here, two men navigate the darkened hallway of a storm damaged building in Riverdale, Maryland. People survey storm damage in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C. on June 30. Power outages caused by downed trees left in the wake of a series of storms left millions without power in several East Coast states. Still, residents took the aggravation with good humor. Posted on the oak tree was a sign saying: "Free firewood you haul." Meanwhile, coast guard officials say they have suspended the search for a man who disappeared early Saturday while boating during the storm off Maryland. Monday, a grocery store employee piled bags of ice for free distribution in Bethesda, Maryland to help community members affected by Friday's storm. On Sunday night in North Carolina, a 77 year old man was killed when strong winds collapsed a Pitt County barn where he was parking an all terrain vehicle. In neighboring Beaufort County, a couple was killed when a tree fell on the golf cart they were driving. Officials said trees fell onto dozens of houses, and two hangars were destroyed at an airport in Beaufort County. The damage was mostly blamed on straight-line winds, which are strong gusts pushed ahead of fast-moving thunderstorms like a wall of wind.  At least six of the dead were killed in Virginia, including a 90 year old lady asleep in her bed when a tree slammed straight into her home. Two young cousins in New Jersey were killed when a tree fell on their tent while camping. Two were killed in Maryland, one in Ohio, one in Kentucky and one in Washington. In West Virginia, authorities said one person died early Sunday when the all terrain vehicle they were riding hit a tree that had fallen over a road.

As for the survivors, it was a challenge to stay cool over the weekend. Atlanta set a record with a high of 104F, while the temperature peeked at 98 at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport just outside the nation's capital. With no air conditioning, officials urged residents to check on their elderly relatives and neighbors. It was tough to find a free pump at gas stations that did have power, and lines of cars snaked around fast food drive through.

In conjunction with American utility companies Canada sent help. Power restoration was spotty. Several people interviewed by The Associated Press said they remained without power even though the lights were on at neighbors' homes across the street. In Maryland, Governor O'Malley promised he would push utility companies to get electricity restored as quickly as possible. Aid from across the border was expected from Ontario's Hydro One power utility, which has assisted in the past when natural disasters caused widespread blackouts in America. Sunday, Hydro One announced that about 800 workers would be sent to the Baltimore, Virginia and Washington regions to assist in restoring electricity to affected areas. Hydro One crews have a long standing history of assisting neighboring utilities when help is needed the most, and this time has never had and exception. The Canadian crews already began working on affected areas. Hydro One has a history of providing assistance to U.S. cities following significant power outages. For example, the power utility helped utilities in Vermont in February 2010 after a massive winter storm crippled power, and in 2008, crews helped out in Ohio after Hurricane Ike caused massive blackouts.

Then the fires within the Midwest, specifically Colorado and Utah,  where there has been no end to the devastation due to the dry hot heat which created fires which have never taken so many homes and lives as well. President Obama activated federal funds and declared the situation a Federal Disaster after receiving a call from NORAD and other officials. Here too the entire state of Colorado has seen the desecration of more homes and lives taken by wild fires which could not be contained. Canadian Firefighters from Alberta and Saskatchewan sent in both civilian and military crews to aid. All eight firefighting planes at Colorado Springs' Peterson Air Force Base were put into force making it the first time since NORAD has brought out its military fleet. As Boulder Colorado is the home of the Air Force Academy as well as the largest air force assembly. It marked the first time the entire fleet was activated in four years.

"I have never seen such a large area of United States which as been torn by natural disasters."
